Losing Steam Now

17 years ago 0 449 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I'm not going to smoke, but oh my gosh do I ever want to. I'm on day 13, with 2 days puff free thanks to this site. I just read I need a change in routine to get me through. I'll go do some housework, maybe grocery shopping instead of continuously thinking about this....................... I'm snacking on marshmellows to get by this but it's lasted a good hour now.??? Josie! I'm off to drink water and get a tasty dinner! Maybe I'll even walk the dog and think a bit about other things :). There are no cigarettes in my house Katy! Honestly! There From December 24 until January 2 when I found this place, my husband purchased 2 packs and he still smoked, so I would take a puff of his. But I asked him to either smoke them or throw them away and he did. But the store is just a 5 minute drive! LOL. I'm honest! The more I am reading Scandal by Carr, the more and more deterimined I feel. In fact, I haven't had a craving today (but that could be the CHantix, which I can't stay on forever!). Thanks you! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I went food shopping (A TWO CART DEAL - I CAN NEVER DO THINGS LESS THAN 150% LOL). I've been on line reading Allen Carr's Scandal. I'm laughing, crying, upset I didn't read this YEARS AGO. The Scandal book is available from his site FOR FREE. I've been reading away on my computer. I have to start a post about him/the book............. Thanks. I'm still hanging tough. After reading, wow, this just may be less painful than I thought???? Could that be possible? It is all about the way you view it, isn't it? Such mind games! I know what you mean. When I left work today and was walking to my car I had the thought.. my "normal" routine was to light one up! I had to get my mind on something else. I started thinkin about my Mom since her Bday is coming up soon and thinking about her, her life, and that lead me to...... WOW I am at my sons school already. mind you it was a 20 minute drive.. and the thought was gone! Do what you gotta do to get your mind on something else, crosswords, word games, book, brush your teeth, and remember TAKE A DEEP BREATH! Just dont hyperventalate ;) Peace Dawn My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/31/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 5 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 104 Amount Saved: $22.5 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 8 Seconds: 39

Marie, The title of your thread is how I felt yesterday. This is definitely a roller-coaster ride. I was so up and down I may as well have been riding a seesaw. Just hang on tight and - dare I say - enjoy the ride. Read the posts of others for encouragement, or do something very distracting like rewarding yourself. I went to the gun range for the first time as my reward and let off some steam by blasting away at a poor unsuspecting silohuette. Not very constructive but who the hell cares when you are fighting withdrawals lol? Hang tough...you are strong! Its a tiring trip but it is so worth it hen you get to where you wanna go.
