Kiwi,
I may be an odd ball, but I quit the day of my first smoke-free day. It was no process. I quit that day, and I'm done. The process is living differently, but I quit smoking on that day, and I am an ex-smoker, non-smoker, a person who used to smoke, but doesn't anymore. I have an addictive personality and if I smoked one, I would try 2, and then 3, and be back to smoking regularly. I will not try one, because I quit. Cigs don't exist. I can't go back to them, because they just don't exist. That's my state of mind, and it's what has made me quit. I've NEVER quit before... for 32 years. I would say I was going to, but yeah... I maybe quit for a few hours, never could even make it a day. I always said that if I could last a day, I would be done, and I am. Try to change your thinking. You quit well over 100 days ago, and that's great! Find new ways to live your life as a non-smoker. That's what I've been working on and it helps. I'm a younger non-smoker than you, and I have no idea what hurdles I may come up against, but I won't smoke again.
The other day someone asked me how the smoking was going. I looked at her strangely and said: "What smoking? I don't smoke." She should have asked: "How are you handling not smoking." I would have given her an answer for that one.
I'm rambling... been away from here for a couple of days, and am reading, and I must have missed putting in my 2 cents while I was gone! Hang in there!
