The Rookery

I have been one unhappy bird here in the Rookery. Start, Stop, Start, Stop. STOP THE INSANITY! A long time ago, I used to end my posts with "It's a choice." Smoking is a choice of course, so is not-smoking. I think, in the back of my addicted brain, I always left that door open. Can't happen anymore. It is no longer an option. I've spent a lot of time the last few weeks being angry at myself. I've realized that I need to get angry at this addiction instead. Self-hatred, as well as smoking no longer has a place. Bear with me, while I give this another go for good measure. I know that I must give it my all, because this is the last kick at the can. Fighting for Freedom!!!!! Cigarettes Not Smoked

Hi Penguin, I hope you are feeling better today. One thing that has helped me when I get down is to think about all the ways that my non-smoking life is better. For example, on Thursday night my 4 year old little daughter asked me to teach her how to eat a Pixy Stix. (For those of you who do not know what that is, it is a sugar favored candy that comes out of a paper tube. She kept biting it closed.) If I were still smoking she would had to find me out in my smoking closet, yelled to me from the door, and I might have told her I would be come inside in a minute. In other words, I now am inside for all those little special moments that happen so quickly in our children's lives. That put a huge smile on my face and I hope it does the same for you. :) Have a Super day. We are all here for you anytime. penguin, I'm sitting here in a corner of the Rookery with an egg containing my baby quit on top of my feet. It's tucked up under my feathers staying warm, while I'm watching you and taking notes. Keep up the great work.... Penguin, You know I have been thinking about your flying thing. I believe you are taking small flights each day. I feathered bird as a baby does not just take off on a flight around the globe. Its first flight it just kinda glides (or falls) from the nest to the ground, but every day it glides a little further and flys a little longer. Just keep improving your flight time each day, day by day! Penquin, Hey there! I also quit on Sunday evening. I only have a hand full of hours left to make it to the 72 hour mark. I hope you are doing well today. I have had a few touchy spots. I have snapped at my girlfriend a few times. Same things that usaully bug me that I would just let go, but today I complained a little. She knows it is because of the quit, so she is cool.
