Congrats Sparky!! You almost inspire me to get rid of these 14mg patches and just go cold turkey....but I think I'll wait and think about it before being rash. Congrats to you and stay strong...your doing fantastic! Sometimes I don't feel like coming to this site. But at this point in my quit I find that when I stay away for a while, the inside of my head gets louder and I start to look for avenues for smoking. I force myself to come, more so since my recent slip. Sparky your posts are always rewarding and shouldn't have any relation to a potential slip. You have wonderful insight and compassion to share. Even if you shared it then slipped afterward, it would not diminish your comments. Because the receipt of you comments is not dependent on you being perfect or beyond reproach. In fact, your comments are appreciated by us even more since we know that you are in the trenches with us. I think that's why this "QUITTING" thing has an "ing" at the end of it. Otherwise it would be "QUIT". Like a one-time easy thing that is absolute. We're all in this together ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 25 Amount Saved: $10 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 5 Mins: 37 Seconds: 45

Sparky - I kinda like the word "mature" better than "old"....and since quitting I have become "full-bodied" not fat. During my quit, I had "creative" moods and I was not cranky. And I was want to say a great big Congratulations from your mature, full-bodied and creative friend! Sparky, which sounds better. Old? Seasoned? Mature? How about this. I'm a "mature" member, but a soon to be "new" quitter! Two days to go!!!! I'm sooo happy for you. You've had a better time with this quit and it really shows! I'm sure your feeling better too. Now with 17 days under your belt you're not far off three weeks smoke free!!!! That's fantastic. And you deserve it!!!! Congrats 2 u for keeping ur quit. This is warming and should inspire some others who haven't kicked the habit. I'd like 2 think it's not so much about the # of times u've quit; rather it's that u've learned from them and that in itself is a reward! It'll get even better in time. Sometimes I get that thought 2 smoke one, jus' one but it's like being a child: I have a short attention span 4 cigs. I 4get about smoking w/in 2 min. flat. I laugh afterwards. Again congrats and I'm proud of u. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 125 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,250 Amount Saved: $625 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 9 Mins: 57 Seconds: 4
