Good Morning All Today i celebrate 1 week of my quit,or do i ? I have to confess that over the weekend as i was frantically keeping myself busy to overcome the cravings,i was cleaning my car inside & out when i stumbled upon a pack of cigarettes buried in my glovebox with one solitary ciggie in it.Much to my disgust i had it !!!! I feel terrible,i mean i didnt rush out and buy a pack afterwards and my resolve this morning is really strong but i do feel terribly guilty.Does this mean i have to reset my quit meter ??????? Please any words of wisdom or advice will be muchly appreciated. It's up to you on your meter and what you do with it. As others said, do whatever feels most motivational for you. realize that you can't go "slipping" here and there and expect to get away with it. You are back here and posting. Stay smoke free and you will not be smoking. Sounds dumb but it's true. Super - The meter if for you - you really only need to reset it if you want to. You had a slip and not a total relapse. Having that cigarette may delay the withdrawal process abit but as long as you are on track, you are still a quitter. Keep on working and if you happen to find another cigarette hanging it around, flush it as soon as you can! Nah, slip is slip! It's NOT a failure! :) It's just only a small setback in the fight against the nicodemon. So, regroup, regain your strength, and continue the fight. We shall win! :) Never quit quitting! Well Super I just wanted to see how you are doing. Butterfly Swimmer is right. One can lead to more. It also tricks your mind, the next time it may be easier to take one more. Get here when you can, if you cannot come during day. Maybe journal or print some info from here. Do whatever just do not smoke again. N.O.P.E. Not one puff ever. You can do it...
