As I mentioned earlier in other thread, during my quit, I had a terrible craving for a cigarette after a big meal. Following the advice of a quitter friend, I added 1 teaspoon of the spicy chili paste from China into the food . It was so hot that all my cravings disappeared at once! :) Cheers, nmc My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 70 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 700 Amount Saved: $350 Life Gained: Days: 13 Hrs: 0 Mins: 17 Seconds: 7

Tonight was tough!! On Thursdays, I work at a shelter for homeless people, and there was enough smoke in the air to look like a full-blown factory. My mind was filled with smoking thoughts..nagging ones; relentless for an hour. I kept walking into the back storeroom to say a prayer. ( I know God is rooting for me :) ) At one point, I looked into the fridge and found an entire package of Halloween candy. I started with one mini Butterfinger. It seemed to satisfy the craving I was having. Well, one turned into 2 and then into 6 I think. I was feeling guilty at first, but then a thought came to me. It was far better to have these candy bars tonight if it kept me from smoking. I am home now and going out for a long walk with my dog. Have to burn off some of the calories from the candy. :) Just needed to share tonight. Feeling much better. see you all soon, sally My Milage: My Quit Date: 10/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 3 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 79 Amount Saved: $12.75 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 11 Mins: 5 Seconds: 55

Sally, That was a good choice in a bad situation. Enjoy the walk and be proud that you did not cave in. Try Psalms 34:4, it provided some help for me.
