I totally understand your feelings of "being alone in a crowd" and you're right about this site.. At first, I thought, yeah, right, like this is going to help, but it does!!! When I get to work it's the first thing I'm pulling up. I'm not suppose to surf the net at work, but I thought the heck with them... they should realie I'm doing something positive with my life and if this helps they should be happy and supportive... I'm still a work horse and work by far harder than most.. so I don't think I'll get any flack. We are here for you!!! another thing... my sense of smell is surprising me.. I walked by some flowering bushes (live in CA) last night and I actually could smell them. I could actually smell the nasty blooming tree a few feet away too. but it was just wonderful and surprising that I didn't even realize I had been missing these wonderful treats of life. Keep on keeping on!!! Marcy

What a wonderful post. I know that this site is just the most awsome thing and that I probably would still be smoking if it weren't for this site. So many wonderful people with so much positive renforcement! Can't say thanks enough to all those who help without even knowing who they are really talking to. Sure is nice though. Great quit, keep it up and don't forget those rewards! Marcy- I know what you mean when you talk about smell. I didn't realize until the other day, I can smell snow again. That beautiful, crisp smell I loved as a child. And although we have another extreamly cold day here (around -30), it just doesn't seem as bad as it did before. Tutti- Thank-you, and I agree with you completely reguarding prayer. For taking the time to pray for my well being you have helped to make a great difference in my state of mind. I know that the understanding and love I felt from the posts on this site helped me to survive this last weekend. And for that I thank you greatly. (I am sure my hubby feels the same way, as I undoubtably made him miserable as well) To everyone else- I am very glad so many have taken the time to realize what this site means to us all, we all deserve a big pat on the back, I think. For all the help and hard times we share here, each and every day. We are all going to make it, one day at a time, because we are doing it together, and with this many of us wanting the same thing, how could we lose? Congratulations to everyone, new quitters and old, for all your hard work, persistance, and for being smart enough, and strong enough to enjoy a smoke-free life My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/15/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 20 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 510 Amount Saved: $165 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 56 Seconds: 26

I really needed to take the time to say Thank-You. I have had some horrible depression-filled days lately and as soon as I posted to everyone how I was feeling, the posts came flying back to show me your support. I really needed that. I have always been the one to offer support to those who needed it. Although I never took any back. Until now. I didn't realize how wonderful it felt to have people show that they cared about what i was going through. I have always been alone in a crowd, if anyone understands that. (I hope that I was half as successful in offering support as you all are.) This site is a wonderful thing. It pushes us along and makes us try our hardest to accomplish our goals. I have never felt so confident in myself as I do now, after 19 days of living a smoke-free life. Of having spare change lying around, being able to do what I want without worring about smoking. What a wonderful, beautiful, bright and cheery world we live in. We can all do this together, helping each other when we stumble and walking hand-in-hand when we are strong. Hi WhyNot, I'm so happy to read this post. You have really made my night and all day long tomorrow. You know, I've heard people say, "I'll keep you in my prayers" and as soon as they said that line, it sounded like a cliche and I wondered if they actually remembered to pray. When I say that I'm going to pray, I MEAN IT. I feel like it would be offensive to God to promise to pray and then not do it. I'm a bit of a prayer warrior. Prayer has carried me through a lot in my life. I reckon we can all say that. I know how depression works and just know, I will continue to pray for you. I know right now, the Lord answered my prayers for you the other night. I've already thanked Him for that answered prayer. I know what you're talking about too. On this site, we've found a group of friends who are willing to put as much of themselves into our relationships as we ourselves are. It really is a two way street with all of us sincerely caring about each other. I'm so happy you're feeling better. It really helps to talk to people who care......and we all do. You're stats look so great and you have a wonderful quit going there. Hugs, Tutti My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/18/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 767 Amount Saved: $51 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 19 Mins: 20 Seconds: 28

Whynot: What a nice post to read! It's gratifying, isn't it, to know that virtual strangers with one major thing in common -- wanting to kick this nicotine addiction -- can play such an important role in our lives? And that we can be on both ends of this helping relationship -- very cool. I'm so glad you have found it rewarding over your fabulous 19-day quit. Stick with us, keep posting (especially such positive posts as this one) and as I always like to say, KEEP THE FAITH! Sending a basket of hugs your way...... It's a 2-way street. It's nice to give and it's nice to be able to receive. Congrats on your 19 days, and counting.
