My quit buddy!!! {{{{{hugs}}}}} I don't know why you are sad or depressed...stuff happens! That was just a practice run---the next quit will be it! If, as the others said, you are still in partial withdrawels, it's a good time to start your quit. I think that's about where I was before this quit...in constant withdrawals. Putting the patch back on was almost a relief! I like what N2k said about your statement possibly saving someone else from a slip. Very true. We will be here when you need us...we miss you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 596 Amount Saved: $88 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 5 Mins: 25 Seconds: 47

Hi, I lost my quit on Saturday. I have set a new quit date, but I must tell you I am so afraid to try again. I have failed so many times. The people here are wonderful. The respones I got were so kind. I have been very depressed since I screwed up. I think about all of you and come here to see how everyone is doing, then I get sad when I see the quit meters. I don't like the way I feel right now and not sure what I want to do anymore. I really miss the interaction of this site. I know I am feeling sorry for myself, but that is just the way it is at the moment. I am just very, very sad. Newcomers, keep your quit. It is not worth what I am feeling right now. Withdrawal is a piece of cake compared to this. Hope to see you all soon.

It's so true - that we *must want to Quit more than we want to light up... Until then - no Quit will be successful. I did the cut back thing and went through partial extended withdrawal too. It WAS a bad place to be. Ya know Sparky, if it's true that things happen for a reason then maybe this post of yours:
Newcomers, keep your quit. It is not worth what I am feeling right now. Withdrawal is a piece of cake compared to this.
Is exactly what someone needed to see right now. You may never know who's quit you just saved. Come back to us full-time. Take the plung again before it's too late! *hugz* All the best~ 2 "Often the true test of courage is not to die but to live" --Count Vittorio Alfieri My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/20/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 395 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,707 Amount Saved: $1975 Life Gained: Days: 37 Hrs: 13 Mins: 31 Seconds: 16

Hi, Sparky. Don't feel like a failure. You are here and you still want to quit. That is not failure, my friend. That is someone still looking for the right path. Slips and relapses happen in the world of addiction recovery. It's a natural fact. Not one we encourage, of course, but they do happen and are nothing to beat yourself up over. Are you back to smoking as before, or are you trying your best to hold it to a bare minimum? If the latter, then you are probably in a constant state of partial withdrawal and that is what is causing the depression. Just a guess on my part, but I have experienced partial withdrawal when I tried cutting back before my quit and I'm here to tell you it was a bear. If you miss the interaction here, then interact! :) There's nothing wrong with that, even if you aren't quit yet. You're trying, that's close enough for right now. Okay? Come on Sparky. Let's kick some demon butt. :eg: Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 484 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,695 Amount Saved: $1839.2 Life Gained: Days: 90 Hrs: 8 Mins: 53 Seconds: 56

Sparky. You lost your quit on Saturday. Now you're sad. It isn't like someone died. You can re-build your quit. You have that power. Right now you are beating yourself up. And that's letting the junkie win. Pick yourself up, look in the mirror and take control. Smoking is a choice. Quitting smoking is a different choice. Which one will you choose? Lots of us tried to quit lots of times. I smoked for 40 years. I quit every time I smoked a cigarette. I would say "That's my last one." And then guess what? Junkie got control. It wasn't until I said "enough is enough" that I was able to quit. You can do this. The only failure is in giving up. Please don't give up. Sparky, We are not here to judge and you have not let us down. Take a step back and perhaps work with your doctor to come up with a plan that is right for you. We are always here to support and give advice, we are ready when you are :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
