Sorry you're not feeling so good. I quit the patches after couple weeks because of rash and didn't see any increase in craving but then I've had an easy quit. Glad the sun is shining for you - it is here too. Getting cockey is one of my biggest fears Phil - it was why I restarted last time. this time round i feel it's sometimes difficult to balance not being cockey with keeping positive. All I can say is I'm determined for today and when tomorrow comes I'll look to tomorrow. Hey Phil I hope wherever you are today that the sun shines for you - I know you directed quite a few beams my way over the past few days so you deserve it. Good for you for sleeping an extra hour - rest is soooo lovely not to mention the health benefits. Phil, You have a great quit going. It is difficult when people don't understand what we go through when we quit. It is quite an experience. Keep you chin up and keep pushing along. It does get so much better. Slowly, but surely. Hang int here. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 473 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,469 Amount Saved: $1655.5 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 17 Mins: 27 Seconds: 5

Phil, When you are having those bad days, remember that good days follow. You made it through another trying time without smoking and that makes you that much stronger for the next time. Each day we grow in our quits. Some of those days are good and others not so good. One of these mornings you are going to wake up and you will read something, see something or hear something and all of a sudden you will realize that you can't even remember the last time you thought about smoking. It does happen. Keep marching forward. You are on the road to recovery. There just seems to be a few bumps along the way when the nicodemon tries to get you back. Your friends traveling with you help hold you up in your time of need. Don't ever stop reaching out. Congratulations on waking up to sunshine! You are a great quitter. Phil, I quit while using the patch. I started with 24 mg and did the 14 and 7. Now I cheated and compressed the time necessary, but I felt comfortable with it. I did the 24 for 2 weeks and then a week each for the 14 and 7. The patch simply works by giving you a continuous dose of nicotine to ease the withdrawals and allow you to settle into the non smoking routine. How I used them was unique to my situation and I don't encourage anyone to deviate from the normal patch plan. I had to take the patch off at night as I had many "patch dreams". To assist me I read about the quit process and everything I could find on tobacco and how it silently trashes our bodies from the inside out. Interesting stuff. Oh, I also hung out here a bit.. Hang in there and start each day with a great smoke free smile! :) Be Strong. Be Smart.
