The Junkie Strikes!!!!!

Jan: You are doing soo well! I had THE most stressful afternoon. I had that internal battle off and on for several hours. Several times I think I actually physically held myself back and cried like a baby in the car. I did not smoke. I really don't think about smoking very much...except when I am really stressed...and it always involves the kids. One got into trouble at school...another got into a wreck in a town 4 hours away...and another needed $$$, as usual. This week our church has been celebrating revival. I went tonight, even though I didn't really want to. I could use a little religion right about now, besides, I didn't have to cook dinner :) This afternoon, even though I did not smoke, I was so stressed-out and angry that I was shaking...I needed to ask God if all that shaking and jumping around this afternoon was the Holy Spirit or a demon! :confuse: My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 596 Amount Saved: $88 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 5 Mins: 27 Seconds: 21

Thanks, Marie....I had a just awful afternoon, but going to the revival really helped.....had a singing preacher with an absolutely wicked sense of humor. He was ....quirky! Thanks, Windy. I am trying to keep my head about me. My son's recent behavior has me at wits end. He had already been grounded (big time) and screwed up again. If you're interested, the execution is scheduled for Saturday morning. I have got to keep a sense a humor, otherwise I would be in jail! If that ever happens, promise me that you will set pickle jars at the convenience stores with my picture and an explanation of my situation in an effort to make my bond. Okay? Gosh-you guys are true-blue friends!!!! Oh yes, they can be trying! This is the same child, who when we go to the mall, asks me to walk about 20 feet away from him so nobody knows we are together---then warns me not to wander off in case he needs 20 bucks!(?)

Good for you Jan! Whenever I see somebody puffing away, I always visualise my poor father (who was always of a very athletic, muscular build) until he was laid low with cancer. Then I see him as he was then, a mere skeleton - and I have to stop myself from lecturing those smokers take care - you are doing well Mr Ed :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 218 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,561 Amount Saved: 1635 Life Gained: Days: 36 Hrs: 11 Mins: 9 Seconds: 28

Hi Jan, Good for you, friend... Stay focused on your Quit and protect it with everything in you. Sometimes it can be challenging to recognize junkie thinking from our own, so keep your guard up...
