3 days and it should regulate unless you continue to put more nicotine into your system. You could check with your doctor for some anti-anxiety medication. When a smoking thought pops into your head, get busy doing something else. There is plenty to do in life that is for sure! LadyArwen, Cutting down on the patch asks your body to again readjust to a lower level of nicotine. Get back to basics: Utilize your coping mechanisms, distractions and rewards to get you through. Try finding another outlet for your emotions: keep a journal, take a run, remove yourself from the situation, distract yourself, phone a friend, post here... whatever works best for you. Every step down brings new challenges. You're almost nicotine free, hang in there! Danielle ____________________________ The SSC Support Team

Hang in there Sillyme... I've seen a lot of patch users post about going through mini-hell weeks for a day or so after stepping down. It WILL pass and you will be all the stronger for it. Whatever you do, don't smoke. You are doing great! Hi Ladyawren. Around that one month mark is a down period for a lot of quitters. I didn't use the patch so I really don't have any advise on that subject. I highly recommend finding a couple of quit buddies. They will save you from yourself when you feel like you are losing your mind. If you don't have a quit buddy, keep posting when the going gets tough. Take one step at a time and don't forget the rewards. You have a great quit going and have come too far to turn back now. Congratulations!
