Sunday Celebration!!!

17 years ago 0 5195 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
I want to echo what Luna just said.
I celebrate this site and the people who travelled this road with me. There were no easy answers here. There was no magic. For me, it was not gentle. But there was support, and compassion, and humor, and commiseration and people who took the time to really think about what I was saying and what they were saying.
I couldn't have done it without you and wouldn't have done it without all of you that carried me when I couldn't walk on my own. Thank you again and again and again..... Islandgirl... don't feel bad. I had to turn my air back on too. I want fresh air in the house and cooler weather too. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 459 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,193 Amount Saved: $1606.5 Life Gained: Days: 40 Hrs: 12 Mins: 17 Seconds: 55

It is Tuesday and I just caught up to you celebrators. I celebrate my freedom. I celebrate that my mind is full of other things besides cigarettes. I celebrate not keeping (or trying to keep) this HUGE secret of smoking from everyone. I celebrate walking into my closet and not having it smell smoky from the clothes. I celebrate this site and the people who travelled this road with me. There were no easy answers here. There was no magic. For me, it was not gentle. But there was support, and compassion, and humor, and commiseration and people who took the time to really think about what I was saying and what they were saying. Thanx Rusty for the nudge to celebrate. Hi Rusty! Okay, so this past week, the oven stopped working. Then the freezer died and leaked water ALL over the back porch (we lost a ton of food, including some great homemade barbeque). I broke my toe Sunday night for the second time in a month and now get to wear a LOVELY shoe for a few weeks (thought I might get one for the right foot and start a new fashion trend). My husband is just getting over the flu (gee, men are fun when theyre sick). My daughter and I are in the middle of college applications good grief, they want your entire life history and college visitations. I also just got conned into joining a handbell choir at church. So Ill celebrate the fact that everyone in my immediate family is now basically healthy. We have a roof over our heads and plenty of food to eat. AND, I dont smoke anymore! Celebrate life its worth it! Well, we turned our air back on as well. I guess The South isn't quite ready for fall yet! I'm glad you all are joining in...we might just make it a Daily Celebration! I'm celebrating today...who will join me? I'm celebrating the first day of October and it's cooled down enough to open the windows. I'm celebrating my 5K walk this afternoon for breast cancer awareness. I'm celebrating my friends and family today who are always there for me. I'm celebrating all of our new and returning quitters and all of our older quitters who are always around to lend a helping hand. AND, I'm celebrating my stats! How about you? What are you celebrating today? So glad to see so many celebrating with me! JohnW...I so wish I could join you all in Nashville. I will be there in spirit! Duffis...You are the Come-back Kid, my friend! Enjoy that wine! We had an awesome walk for breast cancer awareness yesterday. My team raised over $1,000 and we joined more than 1,400 others on a beautiful walk for a cause that is so close to our hearts. Phillip, I wish you the very happiest of birthdays...keep celebrating and carry that joy to share with your mother! I hope every single person on this site recognizes themselves as bringing "light, love and gentle care" to one another. Not just a select few, but everyone. Oh Rusty, I also love the cool down days of October, I think You and I are on the same train, For Yesterday, Saturday, I walked 3 miles for the Arthritis Foundation of Eastern Oklahoma, to raise money for many Arthritis victims Who can't help there selves, People call in on the phones and give there pledges, And it made me feel so good when it was over, to be able to help Others, And then We Plan to have another celebration this next coming weekend in Nashville Tennessee, Where several of Us Quitters are meeting, Its like a reunion of Friends, like 10 12 of Us are meeting to spend the weekend, Yes, I'm counting the days and hours till we all meet, A CELEBRATION INDEED, You All have a good week, Smokeless In Oklahona :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/10/2003 Smoke-Free Days: 1301 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 39,048 Amount Saved: $5568.28 Life Gained: Days: 307 Hrs: 15 Mins: 45 Seconds: 8
