MistyMoon, Marie is right, you have wonderful stats and should be proud of your quit and how you got to where you are! I know you're still learning how to deal with your emotions. Be patient, it will happen and we are here to help you. Keep strong. Danielle _________________________ The SSC Support Team

Dutch - You're awesome.... although everybody is different. It's an extra blessing to have a little easier time of being quit. The best way to handle that is to help others who are not having such an easy time. I find that lending a hand has made my quit more rewarding. Congrats on your 113 days ! Rusty The site is all about quitting smoking and getting out of the addiction to nicotine. You are supportive and caring and ever so loving no matter what. You are a fantastic inspiration. Don't let it get you down. I am right here with you. I hope that you know how much I have felt supported by you and how very much I appreciate you. Dutch, I am glad you are not having a hard time. You are lucky because I am sure you are in the minority of people who have a really easy quit. State of mind has so much to do with being able to quit too, although I think someone can have a good frame of mind and still not have it as easy as you. My dad was like you when he quit. He quit and never looked back, but his personality at that time was not at all like yours and he was still able to quit with no problems at all. So what am I saying? I guess I am saying consider yourself lucky (which I know you do and you should) and don't ask why just be glad it is that way. Some things there is just no rhyme or reason to. Hey, if we could figure out what it is that makes it so easy for some people we could become very wealthy. Keep up the great quit and post alot because you can be an inspiration to alot of people. I am doing great but it always makes me feel good to read about people like you. Have a great day! Hi, Dutch. We are almost the same age and smoked the same time. My quit was much easier than most I've seen here and much easier than I expected it to be. I did use Wellbutrin for the first month that probably helped, but I've been cold turkey ever since. Like Hurstk, I think your attitude and desire to quit is what has done it for you. After detox, quitting is nothing more than a mind game with yourself and the right attitude makes it so much easier. Keep up the good quit, Dutch. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 426 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,529 Amount Saved: $1618.8 Life Gained: Days: 79 Hrs: 12 Mins: 12 Seconds: 26

Rejoice! It sounds like you are. The freedom is delicious, isn't it? My quit was not easy, but still, I wonder what in the heck took me so long. Congratulations on passing the 100 day milestone!! My reference to the Good Ship Lollipop was about another site, where if you relapse they kick you off permanently. That's how they can keep such good quit statistics. My point was that on the SSC we suffer with each other and we cheer each other on, we try to help people who are having a tough time, we don't judge them. But the moderators said some people complained that my thread was offensive and so the reference was deleted. I'm not sure anymore what the point of this site is. Mistymoon, If you slip or have problems we will help you. The truth is that there are 4,000+ chemicals added to tobacco to make a cigarette, and any combination of those chemicals can in turn cause chemical issues in a person. Just as in a chemical depression, pasting a smiley bandage on it doesn't necessarily make it better. There is no person on this earth who is an expert in quitting. You are the person who is charge of you. A little help can go a long the way can give you tips and techniques, but bottom line is that you own your own quit and they have no say in it.
