Hi bfs, Yes, my internet was down for about 4 days; but I am up and running again. I don't know if I have your e mail address?? You gave me your username for yahoo IM, I think. I will look for you on the scc im in the evenings. I have been using the nic lozenges again. When this box is out, I am done with them AGAIN. The statement that you made to me about "the quit will become easier when mentally you know that smoking is not an option anymore"..that has helped me many times over the last few weeks. Talk to you soon...off to work My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/20/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 17 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 475 Amount Saved: $63.75 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 7 Mins: 11 Seconds: 44

that's okay shevie, I had a nice chat with bfs. I work today so can't get online until this evening, maybe I'll catch you then. Thanks Marie, that is encouraging. I look forward to the day when I will actually feel free from this addiction. The people who had my credit cards rented two rental cars and STOLE them. But, what stupid criminals. The woman opened a brand new credit card account in my name. The card came to my house with HER picture on it??? And she spelled my name wrong on the front of the card? I gave the picture to the police. I couldn't help but think, damn, if I was doing that I would have memorized how to spell the name, practiced writing it, etc, etc. duh..But, everything is closed down now. I got my new cards and signed up for an identity theft program. I'll keep it in place for a few months. Thanks for asking. Well, another smoke free day..yipee. I'll be there Tuesday evening, too, if that's okay. Will probably be getting ready for vacation trip that we'll be leaving on Wednesday evening, but I'll make time to at least say hi. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 487 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,751 Amount Saved: $1850.6 Life Gained: Days: 90 Hrs: 21 Mins: 32 Seconds: 57

Ex-slave, you need to hop off this merry-go-round. It goes nowhere. You keep bouncing back and forth. Somewhere along the way, you need to take a firm, no-nonsense stand against this addiction. You need to say "This is it come hell or high water!" and just quit. When things get rough and the demon is digging his claws in, you need to do whatever you need to do to not smoke. All you do by slipping and relapsing is to extend the agony. We can help you get through this, Ex-slave, but you have to help us help you. Do you have the SSC IM? If not, get it. I have no problem sitting up past midnight keeping someone off cigs if that's what it takes. If I could, I'd come over there and slap them out of your hands as fast as you pick them up. I'm willing to do what it takes, but you have to help. OK? Let's go kick some demon butt! :eg: Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 485 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 9,712 Amount Saved: $1843 Life Gained: Days: 90 Hrs: 12 Mins: 38 Seconds: 17

hello ex-slave, how are you feeling today? You have had a really rough time of it but now you need to build up your confidence and move on. There will always be triggers and stresses, it's how we deal with them that counts. Have you tried reading Allan Carr, he explains the mental side of quitting very well, that may help you fight this. Good luck for tomorrow, I'll be thinking of you My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 186 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,723 Amount Saved: 465 Life Gained: Days: 24 Hrs: 3 Mins: 31 Seconds: 4

Hi ex-slave, So glad to see you got yourself going again. 'Coping' does get easier as you go. So much easier - even 150 days is a lot easier than 100 days. I know that there have been people who start again after a long time, but that's usually when they fall for the 'JUST ONE' syndrome. One of the great things about being on this site is educating yourself and knowing that there is never 'just one.' N.O.P.E. I take my hat off to you. It's a brave and determined person who climbs back on the horse. Hi ex-slave, I guess it is not a case of what has happened, but what is going to happen next? There is about a 90% relapse rate if you smoke again, is this what you want? If not, you have to take control back right now. I do not mean to dismiss your troubles, indeed I do understand that inner longing for some comfort, but your troubles remain, smoking does not remove them....just masks them for a few minutes....and then you have your problems back again. You also have to decide how you want to go forward. Is this going to be 'it', or just 'for the time being until something else happens'? I am sorry if this sounds very tough, I do not mean to be tough on you personally, only on the problem that you are facing. I totally accept that you have been through very upsetting events. If you were further along in your quit, you would not experience the same longing that hits you now. Now pick yourself up and continue your fantastic quit. You will never regret that you did. Have strength and feel a HUG.
