3 weeks now and i am feeling OK. Still using the lozenge but have cut down to only 2-3 tabs a day. Just wanted to tell someone, i don't talk about quitting to anyone, it may be bad luck. I am patting myself on the back for something I didn't think I could do. WHERE IS TER? Way to go on 3 weeks...you know I kinda felt like that too...I told two friends and my hubby and that was it....but as time goes on, I have more comfortable sharing my quit with other people and have been pleasantly surprised by the amount of support and the lack of unsolicited advice. I still come here to vent though...I don't think non-smokers could ever imagine how huge 3 weeks is...but we do! Congratulations! Miagi and Maggie Lets stop and think about this. Twenty some days is a great start and I congratulate you on such a wonderful job. In twenty some days or four weeks you have shown yourself that you are the master of this quit. Really think about this twenty some days you have been through h and you are still with us. And the craves, sure they hang on, but become fewer as time goes by. How often are you craving per day and how long? Are the craves shorter and less intense than say two week ago? Just remember time is the healer of most things in our lives that we need to distance ourselves from. If you ever had a love and lost that love, you dont get over it over night. It hurts some times badly as many of us may have experienced once or more in our lives. The trick with love and cigarettes is what? You need a replacement part for the love just like the smoking. That is where your tool box comes into play. Distract, deny and do not dwell on the urges. We build the habit of smoking over years and it takes the time is the healer to make us better. It hurts to quit but you are doing this and I am very proud of you. And you know, you both are those who I see as a winner. You will be making it just keep doing what you do and keep telling yourself: I dont need that smoke. I will just want another one in thirty minutes if I break down and smoke. Deny, distract, self talked, be proud of your strength and may God shine his light on you.
