Where is the light - Look Down Younder!

Think positively and see the light!! Amazingly, some people dismiss the power of a positive attitude. More fool them! I am cheered to know that they are in a small minority. A positive attitude can really make dreams come true - it did for me and the light shines!! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/18/2004 Smoke-Free Days: 1224 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 24,480 Amount Saved: 6,120.00 Life Gained: Days: 196 Hrs: 14 Mins: 52 Seconds: 19

Yes, stickin'.....I'm gonna make it. Because no matter what is happening around me, I AM a non-smoker. The light is burning bright! :8|: My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/22/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 186 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,440 Amount Saved: $1,264.80 Life Gained: Days: 25 Hrs: 21 Mins: 54 Seconds: 6

Oh, I'm SO gonna make it!! Are you kidding me? There is no alternative to making it. I had to make sure the light at the end of the tunnel wasn't another train. That took anout 2 weeks & after that, there was NO turning back. All my buddies and I are for sure going to make it, we already are! You can bet yer boots I'm gonna make it! I saw the light from the start! It was off a ways and dim, hardly lit the rocky road. I've taken a beating and maybe lost a friend or two but stumbled struggled fought and followed that light off in the distance. It's brighter now and the road is smoother. Don't worry about Greger he's gonna win. I am so glad that there are people who have had easy quits AND hard quits on this road so that nobody thinks that it's always one way or another. I just want to say that if you ARE struggling, even after 6 months, that doesn't mean that there's necessarily anything wrong with you... for many people, it takes longer than that and that's OK too. The only thing that matters is that we are all smoke free! So, thank you all for sharing that the quit can be easy. For some, it is not that way. Count your blessings and never take for granted that your quit was easy... some aren't as fortunate. Crave the Quit! Fellow quiters It doesnt have to take a year to get to the point where you stop suffering. I understand that the durations vary, however by 100 days you may pretty well have it licked. Then it becomes taking the ends of the habit and controlling it. Many Support Program say that you are in the maintenance mode at the six month period, meaning you are free. Just do not take things for granted and do anything stupid. The rule of thumb is maintenance mode begins in the six month and may last as long as month twelve. It can be shorter than the twelve months; it can be as short as six months, if after six months you are convinced that you will never smoke again. I for instance was well in the third month, had three days of strong sporadic urges in month five and then it was over for me. I think in the fifth month he made his final charge at me. That was THE END! Now going into month 9 on Oct 22, it is whatever I please or choose to do. Hope this helps you to see the light at the end of the tunnel and that you envision yourself their. I will be watching and awaiting your arrival.
