I quit tomorrow.

I appreciate the responses greatly. I am about to turn in for the night, and I have made it through day 1 successfully. Tomorrow I have to go to work. Okay let me break this down so you see why the fact that I have to go to work is such a challenge. I have to get up and get myself and a 2 1/2 year old ready to go without my morning cig. I have to drive to work, (usually running behind!) and driving is when I LOVED to smoke. I have to go to lunch with friends who will be smoking (but tomorrow I might go study, I am in school too), and the drive home, all leads up to one thing, ME WANTING TO SMOKE! I just hope that I don't give it the importance, that it is trying to have in my life, easier said then done! :) I just need to take it one day at a time. Good night folks. Okay I have been attempting to quit for the past 2 weeks. I smoked for 13 years and quit for 6 months, went back to smoking, and now I want to quit, but I just don't seem or feel as determined as before. I come here for some help to get the motivation I need to actually make this stick. Thanks.

Hello. Thanks alot. It is morning cigarette time so I am here. I hope it helps being here instead of smoking my morning cigarette. I feel kinda sad that I am quitting right now, but I know its best.

Hello! Its now 6pm my time and I havent smoked all day! I have really only thought about it a few times. I had a little morning frazzle, but my quit buddy helped me through. I think if I can just get back into the mindset I was in the first time I quit, I will have an easier time at this. I already know that moping around without my cigarettes will get me nothing but wasted time, and I guess if I am going to see this through, then there is no need to be sad, it's a better decision, and I do MOST DEFINITELY see the changes, from how I was when I wasn't smoking to now. I really, vividly see the negative effects that smoking does, because I watched my clean breathing, and smelling and every other beautiful benefit I had as a "nonsmoker" slowly, with each drag that I had to take again, go away. I believe I am prepared to regain that. Thanks for listening. Thanks again for the support. Serenity, you are reading my mind. I am through with day 2. I guess my meter doesn't count the actual day I quit, because I haven't smoked a cigarette since Sunday and tomorrow will be day 3 for me. Really love the positive post, they are very motivational and inspirational. One day at a time, what more can I do? Thanks! Still smokefree! Driving sucks a bit but everything else seems to be okay. So far so good. Thanks everyone for the posts, it's nice to see people actually care if I remain smokefree! Wow, I have again made it through another day. I guess I have the rest of the evening but I won't smoke tonight. I tried the straw thing, I chewed the straw until it was all slobbery and nasty and people stared at me like a freak with a slobbery straw hanging out the side of my face! I didn't care! They wouldve really stared if they saw me take a drag off that straw and flick its ashes out the window! I had to use the cigarette again this afternoon. I will need more straws tomorrow! I have a week break from school this week, so I have been a bit more relaxed this week. By next week, though, I should be able to handle the stress without smoking! I almost made it to day 7 this past time I tried. I am just taking it day by day! I have a friend who is trying to quit too. That's cool, I inspired someone! LOL! Heres to FRIDAY THE 13TH!!!! Ohhhh spooky, bad things are supposed to happen on Friday the 13th! I bet the nicotine monster will be lurking!!! Wow, day 3 almost over! My chest is breaking up, if that makes sense, my cough is productive rather than a hack! I smoked these fat little cigs, and today when I got my after lunch mocha I noticed the straw in my mocha was perfect fatness of my ciggies. Tomorrow I plan on asking for an extra one! =) I dont really like using the cigarette either, but I think alot of my smoking had to do with boredom while driving! I smoked ten times more when I drove. I can drive and listen to music and just lite them up one right after another. I just recently smoked so much that if I had another drag that day I thought I would puke. It also seemed that this past weekend before I quit, I was really looking forward to quitting. I know how good I felt, and I want to breathe again and not start coughing and hacking if I laugh too hard! Sorry, just kinda rambling, like my own personal journal. This will be the only quit journal I have time to keep!!! Alright, I had the doctor put me on wellbutrin. I quit Sunday night, and I have now made it 2 whole days. I HATE DRIVING! I hate it! It has been killing me. It's probably not a good idea to carry a cig with me but I do when I drive so I can hold it while I drive. I need to find a better supplement so that I don't have to stare at one when I am craving one! That's the only time I really have an issue. I will check back in.
