I feel sad and lonely and think nobody loves me :(

Ann, I felt exactly the same as you and I'm not on any medication! This is actually quite funny cause I started thinking that no-one liked my sign on name either! lol. I think that quitting smoking makes our emotions go off the wall and round the corner. Hang in there - your emotions will calm down again. Ann, A lot of us have changed our names. I guess we are all going through so many emotions ... and even feel like we are different people. My original name on this site was smoking sux .. ! :) I hope that your husband booked a nice weekend for you! Hi Ann - I'm so sorry that you were feeling sad...there were many times that I felt the same way that you are feeling. However, I met a gracious Lady along the way that made me realize that every one here cares about each other and wants to support each other in our quits. I care about you, and it is very important for you to know that. You have been quit for 16 days now...what an accomplishment! Good for your husband to book a reward weekend for you! As we continue in our quits we begin to learn who this new person is - ourselves as a non-smoker...it's an emotional bumpy ride...we need new activities, new buddies to hang with for a while, a new way to eat, staying healthy is a priority.. instead of a pipedream - many, many new things...all the while trying to control our anger, our sensitive emotions, and the cravings that hit when we least expect it. Know that we care about you...don't ever think that we don't. Hi Ann! 15 Days is really big! Congratulations! Have you made a list of the positive reasons to quit? That helped me get past that very difficult first month of my quit. Any time you feel lonley and need to talk you will find people here with lots of support and encouragement. It does get better. Just hang on. You can do this. Just dig deep within your self because the strength and determination is there, you just have to find what works for you. Hope you are feeling better. If your post gets missed, post again. Take care and I hope you have a better day today Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... Ann, Please try to not be so down. I know that's so much easier said than done, but have you ever heard the phrase act happy to be happy? It goes along with fake it till you make it. Whenever you feel like you're having a pity party, conciously change your mind to something else and don't indulge in the pity party... it won't help you one single bit. What does help though is coming here. We really, really, really do care about you! Please don't think that you have to change your name or leave the site... I don't know who or what made you think that you weren't a valued member of this site, but I'm pretty sure that nobody thinks that about you!!! We're all here with a common purpose, a common goal, and that's to quit smoking. So as long as you're trying to do that, then you most certainly belong here! Crave the Quit! Hope you feel a bit better now Ann, I just noticed the amount of cigarettes you had not smoked - 666! You are doing really well, look at those 15 days - keep strong, it does get easier. Use your coping skills and carry on reading and posting. You can do this! Ann, It is okay to vent and we are glad that you are working through this. It is great that you are also working with your doctor to help come up with a plan for you. We are always here for support and knowledge, and know that we can help! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
