Resetting the meter AGAIN!!! To be perfectly honest, I have returned to the patch, which my husband was successful in quitting on, and to which I found some success as well. I had intended to start back on 14 mg, but due to a more recent slip, I spoke with my Dr. and started back for one week on 21, one week on 14, one week on 10 mg, one week on 7 mg, and one on 5. It has not been that long since my slips all kind of ran into each other. Two days into the 21 :) I REALLY want to quit! Back from Memphis and....I'M STILL SMOKE FREE!!! And, don't you know, my mother pushed every button and I'm STILL smoke-free! :) Of course, THP called a bit ago about that 70 year old woman left along the interstate at about Jackson! :eg: Just kidding, she made it home. Hubby must have known it was going to be a trial...he greeted me at the door with a stiff Jack and coke and the computer keyboard. What a gem! Thanks, Therasita....I do feel rather confident about this particular quit! I want to catch up with hubby! Not too confident, mind you! :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 2 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 138 Amount Saved: $16 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 6 Mins: 48 Seconds: 37

I'm never going to the store again, Danielle! I'm going to quit. I struggled through statistics in college, but suddenly one day it all made sense. I am hoping this journey I am on in quitting will be the same. BTW I eventually got an A in stats!

Found a computer in the Memphis hotel we are in. This recent slip did not involve drama and angst. I was being a smarty-britches! :) HOWEVER, my everyday life generally does involve drama and angst. If it's something horribly hard to cope with, you, my friends, will have to endure every tival detail! :8o: Thanks for being here!

Gonnadoit, Boy do I know what you're talking about! I hated it stats, struggled, worked hard and eventually got an A in the class. What alternative did you have in place for that cigarette? Replacing your old habit with a new one can be very helpful in maintaining your quit. Rewards also play a role as it reinforces and motivates you to overcome temptation for something greater. Keep persevering! Danielle __________________________ The SSC Support Team

Gonnadoit, Think back on this experience... what could you have done instead of picking up a cigarette? why did you pick up a cigarette? Glad to see your continuing to persevere! Danielle _____________________________ The SSC Support Team
