Melanie, thank you. I have quit enough times that I knew what I was and am in for. I don't want to sound better than, but the first two to three days have always been pretty easy. Sure I have spaced out feeling and short temper, but wanting to smoke wasn't to much of an issue. It is when I get out there that the mind games start. I have tried the patches, gum, zyban and smoke away. This time I am going cold turkey. With the patches each time I stepped down I went though withdrawal all over again. The gum made me sick and the smoke awy worked for awhile. I use the zyban alone and with the patches. The key thing for me with this quit being cold turkey the nicotine is out here. I did some reading. Not sure if can mention the book, but it helped a lot. So I take it as it comes. I know I will have to deal with the mind games and it is around day 10 that it really grabed me. So I keep telling myself to tell people about day 10 and will fight like hell. I have never gone past 30 days, so I am looking forward to that. Week one was okay, day 6 was mind games, but made it though. I read a lot of the postings here. I guess the most important advice I got from a non-smoker was never give up quitting; One day you will have smoked your last cig. That person had several tries before she became a non-smoker. I hope this helps, Melanie
