Wow..... This is me. I started as hope. I forgot a password, so came back under a dif e-mail as grace. This was backed off , so I thought it was not here. I didnot even see the responses on here. So great and moving. Now that I know how this place works, just wanted to see who responded to hope. It actult took 1 more week to make it quit. I am quit now. It feels good. It was easier than I made it out to be. Still hard, but I made it a lot more difficult in my mind than it really was. Reading this for the for the time today made me so grateful for this site. And the people here. Luna, Free,Marie, Princess C, (Danielle and all support staff), and my fellow Augustine Q, Ericon. Of corse all the others. Reading this makes me think I could have done it then, had I only came back here.. Well the importantant thing is I have quit. I feel good, and so proud of what I have done. Only by this site and the love of God, has it been possible. :) :)So if you are new, it can happen and work for you.. YOU CAN DO IT. ;p Grace My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 72 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,452 Amount Saved: $288 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 4 Mins: 3 Seconds: 31

Hi everyone. I am about to embark on this journey with all of you. I quit a couple weeks ago for 7 days. Then I fooled my self I could just have one. 2 or3 days later I am buying the dreaded pack again. My goal is do this thing tomorrow. My husband is a heavey smokers as well. He does not want to quit. I need to do this (one of us needs to be around + healthy for our kids. I know the road in front of me is going to be challenging to say the least.I can do this. With Support from God, this program, and lots of hope...Tonight as I leave this site I am going to have my last puff. So I know what is instore for me tomorrow. The battle of good and evil will be in my head. So pray that hope can avail and a new way of life emerge.

Good grief! I'm speed reading thru this thread & suddenly was thinking, who's using my board name! LOL Grace, this thread is from way back on the first day of my 1st attempt to quit smoking using the SSC. Looks like we both stumbled at the beginning but the good news is we're both still quit! Quite a walk down memory lane. Welcome Hope! Glad to hear you are ready to start the journey to a smoke-free life. My first day of quitting was today - - I got through it and so can you. Keep positive, read all that you can here & talk/post so that you get questions answered, motivation for the tough moments and support to keep living in "a new way" as you say. One thing I noticed is that it was easier to quit this time around (at least on the very first day!!) as I could come here to talk if I needed to. It is great to know that at anytime you can get support from people who know exactly what you're going through. Again, glad to see you are joining us! Hope, good luck. I'm a newbie myself but I'll be here to support you when I can. You are sooooo right when you said that one of yous needs to be around for the kids. That's exactly the way I feel with my husband who BTW,,does not smoke but drinks a lot. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!! Just think of all the positive things quitting will bring to you make a list of why you want to quit etc..... Life's too short to be chained to an addition, isn't it? had enough My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/20/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 11 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 385 Amount Saved: $82.5 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 1 Mins: 44 Seconds: 41
