Welcome mjbcards,
Great decision!
Have you completed the tools on your left??? Make sure you do.
Getting prepared............
1. Get your determination to succeed ~ No matter what.
2. Gather any and all information you could possibly find on this horrible addiction. Read old posts here. Knowledge is power my friend.
3. Put on your happy face. A positive attitude will keep your spirits lifted, and in the long run, ease the challenge of quitting.
4. Create a plan. The tools here can help. You'll need some coping mechanisms, and the more organized and planned as to what you are going to do when a crave hits, makes it managable.
5. Stock up on water. Drink lots.
That's it. I used hard candies, water, sleep, and of course the SSC in the early days of my quit. I bought hypnosis cd's, and when a crave came up, I popped on my headphones and laid on the couch, listening to them. It helped me so much. After dinner, I would go for a walk around the block.
Glad you came here! I look forward to watching your quit grow! Oh, and one final reminder ~ the one thing that keeps you quit is: N.O.P.E. Not One Puff Ever
Take care.
