a) Wellbutrin (Zyban) for about 30 days, then cold turkey. b) Didn't have the guts to start CT and NRT seemed to be just changing the delivery system. At the risk of inciting riots I'll give my honest opinion from back then: I likened it to the methadone program for heroin addicts. However, it is way more successful than that. I've seen enough successes now to retract that original belief. Cold turkey using Allen Carr's method not willpower (there is a difference). Worked great- never been happier in my life. Good point Mr Ed. I had quit several times before and always crashed about 5 months quit. I tried the patches (they were free), I tried the gum (they were free too) and failed on both of them. When I looked at Duffis he just up and quit cold turkey and has never looked back. I asked him about this and he said that it was personal choice for sure but that he would recommend going cold turkey. If you are going to quit just quit. Easy for him to say. question 1 Cold Turkey question 2 prior experience and Duffis Hope this helps with your survey :) Pete My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 153 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,613 Amount Saved: $535.5 Life Gained: Days: 20 Hrs: 1 Mins: 23 Seconds: 55

Mr Ed you do keep busy. Good points here and have been argued for ever and ever. I believe that what ever method that works for you is the best way to go. It is, however, a matter of personal choice. (1) Cold Turkey (2) I knew I had the cajones to get the job done Duffis :p My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/13/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 519 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 15,594 Amount Saved: $1333.83 Life Gained: Days: 103 Hrs: 23 Mins: 0 Seconds: 33

Hi Mr. Ed, I "patched my withdrawals" for 12 weeks....and I've been cold turkey ever since. I used the patches because I felt it would ease my transition, and in my case, I believe it did. While I dove in without a lot of planning, I intended to use every tool that I felt could possibly help me succeed. The patch was only one of many. This site was probably the most valuable tool I used. This is my first quit...and as someone above me said...my last quit. :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/2/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 530 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 10,615 Amount Saved: $1892.1 Life Gained: Days: 56 Hrs: 4 Mins: 45 Seconds: 32
