Stress

Hi Cuddles Yep....stress absolutely sucks and it is a major trigger for so many of us....but Lady is right, cigarettes actually increase stress because we have to deal with withdrawal on a daily basis. You have made it through one really bad day.......so good for you!! Sending lots of support from Canada! Hi cuddles, Sending you a big virtual hug, Cuddles. It is hard to deal with anything during those first two weeks. Extra stress is most unfortunate. But a cigarette wont make the situation any better, remember! Stay strong in your resolve and these two weeks will be well in your past. Good luck, Cuddles - we're here with you all the way! Stress is a part of life. Learning how to live with our stresses in a healthy way is key to our inner balance in my opinion. Learning how to cope, accept, be patient with, and respond to stress is key. Almost everything that happens in life causes some sort of stress. It is up to us as to how we choose to think and respond to that stress that is so important to our moods. Positive events/change can bring about stress just like negative events/change can. When we truly accept that stress is a part of life instead of fighting against it, it is then that we can embrace it and learn to not panic for a cigarette when we feel the stresses of life. When we choose to be still and not struggling against stress, we are then able to embrace life's stresses, think about them rationally, and then choose a course of action. Or if our pity pot is full, we can vent, flush, and then get on with embracing and taking action. Hey whatever works, right? ;p Nicodemon is no match for Emotional coping skills. Hi Cuddles, Have you tried relaxation breathing? People may say I am crazy but it REALLY works. I still use it a lot. There are many stressful moments in our lives - bosses, traffic, children, parents, etc. I always say, be tough, life is. I know you have been through a lot of challenges and it's something you can do for you! I hope you try it out and that it works well with the rest of your repertoire of coping tools. Best, CobenFan :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/25/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 212 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,610 Amount Saved: $742 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 15 Mins: 44 Seconds: 8

Cuddles, Firstly, ((((HUGS)))) for you. Secondly, in response to what Casey said:
You have to accept that you cannot change what other people do or say to you.
The only thing that we can change is the way we REACT. Our reaction to anything can bring us up or down. I know that sometimes there are situations that make you feel out of control. There are things that happen in life with work, family, friends, school, etc. But how we react to those stressors makes us our lives feel livable or a daunting task just to get through the day. Everything in life is a choice. Our reactions are choices too. Don't dwell on things that you cannot change. You will lose your precious energy. Take time for yourself Cuddles. Pamper yourself. You are keeping a lot of things inside, and dealing with a lot outside. Take care of yourself, and know that you can get through anything without smoking. Take the time to be selfish. You must own up to your quit. And making your quit top priority needs constant work, at least in the beginning. But you already know that. Let some of those stressors go.................. Pick and choose. That will lighten the burden on yourself. Take care. We are here for you. ;) 4my2girls What Consumes Your Thoughts Controls Your Life My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/5/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 232 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,975 Amount Saved: $758.64 Life Gained: Days: 18 Hrs: 17 Mins: 2 Seconds: 35
