I had tried Zyban, and the only thing it really did for me was make me feel totally out of control. I think I cried for about 4 days straight and felt like I wanted to crawl out of my skin. HOWEVER...I do know 2 other people who tried it. One quit smoking for good. The other eventually caved in. It works different for everyone, because everyones chemical balance is different from each other. Best thing to do is try it and see how it makes you feel. Good luck!!!!

viola, faithfreedom used Chantix the prescribed 12 weeks. She'll probably come in to let you know directly. From what she tells us, it's not bad. But I'd like to add my 2 cents here if I may, about Chantix: Of all the products I have used to quit...this one has been the best for me. The withdrawal was minimal so unlike other quits. the cravings are not like they normally would have been either (less intense...more manageable). Until I actually get to the end of the 12 weeks..I'm just going with the flow. I feel like a Non-Smoker and am very happy with the results so far. I quit cold-turkey in 1982 and it was the most horrible thing I believe I ever went through. I wouldn't want to ever go through the withdrawal, stressfull cravings, anxiety and depression again like that. It can be done though..for those of you brave-hearts out there or those who have no choice. auntdeb :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2007 Smoke-Free Days: 51 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,573 Amount Saved: $242.25 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 1 Mins: 56 Seconds: 18

Hi shazza I have been quit for 55 days and got a bit sad felling a couple days ago so bad I was so close to smoking. I remembered having some Ziban in the cabinet left from a previous attempts to quit. So I have started taking it. It has helped me from maybe relapse or going crazy. I don't no the point in this but thought I would share my Ziban story. Viola, Some of our members notice a few days with a few more cravings. Others do not. Everyone is different. By then, you'll have had plenty of time to practice overcoming cravings and if you need extra help, you know where to find us! Danielle _______________________ The SSC Support Team

Cheers Danielle, thanks for your rapid response. Well I have had some funky times on these tabs. Day two for instance I ran red light, Forgot why I had gone shopping, almost crahed my car twice and forgot to eat all day.....Other days I have gone from feeling totally elated to crying for no apparent reason. My partner just looks at me with quizical wonder.....and at times askes for the real sharon to come back. Never the less he is so proud of me, especially as he is still smoking. Seriously folks, I have only read bad press about these drugs but as a nurse I appreciate everyone will have a different experience. On the good side I can honestly say that not once...have I realy wanted a ciggie. Also on the good side I have lost weight. cheers guys shazza My Milage: My Quit Date: 9/30/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 9 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 246 Amount Saved: 37.8 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 1 Mins: 46 Seconds: 6

Hey ,4my2girls, You gave me the wisdom to know I needed help from my dr. I knew the dark place you spoke of all too well. Thank you for sharing your story. I read your thread about being tired. Seeing family and friends smoking in garage...I also see my family, friends, neighbors smoking in my garage. This is when I stop and think about the big picture,I want to live to be here with them. The main reason for my quiting is health issues.Think about those 2 girls and yourself. You really are doing a great job of quiting.
