Phil. the worst of it was over after 3 days. the first 3 days were by far the worst it gets, so if ya get past that, the rest is a breeze.
I would also watch for emotional triggers. Breakups, illness, fear.. those things were hard for me to get through without the "comfort" of my poisonous "friend". ( But I did)
Also.. watch the drinking, and the boredom. When I have a drink, I still get the odd craving so I fight it, and when I am out of my mind with boredom.. sadly I turned to food at first, but now I walk, knit, or read.
Its been over a year for me now, and there is not one day that goes by where I wish that I was smoking again. Not a day, a minute, or a second. I may have a craving or two every month, but there is no way I would ever smoke again. It just isnt worth it.
Congrats to you all, and thanks for all your kind pats on the back, and for those of you just starting out on this road, the journey may be a rocky one, but believe you me, it is SOOOOO worth it. No regrets.
Living strong, Living long.
