Grace, Take your car and have it cleaned well and detailed. When you see it so clean and smelling fresh it may help you not want to smoke in it. Portable dvd players or cd players may keep the kids from driving you to smoke. as far as the family, i don't really have any help to offer on that one. If you feel about your bad influence sis like i do about some bad influence people in my family, you can always just rub it her face that you are trying to overcome addictions and bad habits. Family is a tuff one. I am going to visit my dad and step mom in myrtle beach next month and they smoke like frieght trains! I have decided to stay in a hotel. I figure if i survive the 8 hour car ride from florida i can't subject my self to further torture by staying in the extremely smoke filled house. Good Luck to you!! Stay strong, I know how bad you want this quit! as i said to you once before, if you can survive a quit with a smoker in your house you are already very stong and determined, You go girl!! I know you can do it!! Ok, Here goes. I am doing okay. I planned to go see my parents at beginning of summer. I thought I would have more time being quit. Well I will be leaving monday. My 2 week anniversary. First off I will be in a car for 5hrs w/2 kids. Second, my family, well.....they are my family. I am not gonna really say much.(that could take days to explaine) I have always coped well because of smoking. My mom likes to push buttons, Oldest sis has a hard story, and mid sis has always been a bad influance on me. I have some ideas on coping the ride. Mints, gum, snacks, water. Whatever the usal. I may have a hard time with the family though. I know it sounds rotten, I do love them. Heck I have smoked around them for more than half of my life. Thinking my sis was cool, and rebelen agaisnt rents was why I started smoking. Grated I do not think any of what my sis and I did was cool, anymore. Nor do I have any reason to rebel. So those reasons are dead. The fact is I am a addict. Good news, get break from smoky hubby. He is not going to be in car w/me. My parent do not smoke. So why do I feel like pending doom. I have done ok. I here alot of things said about later on craves. Maybe I am just being silly. Anyway if you guys have tips or suggestions to help me on this trip. I will greatly appreciate them. Thanks Flowerpot, Unfortantly my sis takes people trying to better thier life as a challenge. I got some games off of a kids site, for the car ride. That will help w/the oldest. The babe is all about timing. If i can time the leave right he will sleep a good bit of it. If I am off he will scream the whole way. I got a few days love to here more. Thank you all for your wonderful insight and delightful rants.lol Grace

Okay, I am leaving tomorrow am. Did not get alot of responses. I am nervous only because I have been doing well. Does that make since. I have heard alot about people having hard craves around this time. Or even giving in and smokings. So this is what I am gonna do. -I am not going to smoke -I will not give into to a crave, trigger, or the junkie -I am strong and to stubborn to give up. -I will not let other people dictate my future -I have the control and power now(Well GOD has it) -I like how I am feeling -I love not being a slave -Nico has beet me down 1 too many times. -Nico will never beet me again -I will not smoke this week no -I will leave a situtation if it is to intence. -I will avoid people if I have to -I will do ANYTHING to protect my quit Grace

Hi everyone. Well I am here.Thank God for the internet.Superisly the car was not bad. I even got lost, but it was fine. I had snacks for me and kids. Both of them were angels so that was good. Now for being here, If I thought my mom would not have a cow, I would have stayed in a hotel. Aggghhh last night I thought I was gonna lose it. There is too much "junk" going on here. I am not good w/any junk, right now. I know that is completly selfish. However if I cont. to have the time I had yesterday, and tis morning. I will have to leave early. I love them but my quit comes first. The junk down here is a norm. It seems to be at a high. Like I said thank God for a computer. I am thankful that the smoker is not around. Last night, I don't know if I would have had the strenght to refuse. MAYBEy Anyway. So that is that. I made a huge promise to self. I intend to keep it, even if that means cutting the trip short.
