Welcome Turtlelilly; Glad to have you among us. What helped me during the first few days was ice water, gallons of it! I chugged water all day, all evening, like someone here once said, "float the Queen Mary". Really helps to alleviate the physical withdrawel. Again, congrats on your decision & welcome aboard! Good job! In 72 hours all of the nicotine will be out of your body. Cut your cafein intake way back if you find yourself nervouse.. that adds to the symptoms. Get plenty of rest, and take good care fo yourself. How are you gonna reward yourself now for your first day? I've stopped before, but now I want to quit with every fiber of my being. I've planned this, got the gum, and some flavored toothpicks as well as homeopathic remedies for calm. I have never had cravings this strong, but before, I was never up to a full pack a day before stopping. This will be tough, but I don't care, I'm ready. Thanks all! I'm enjoying a quiet night in with my partner tonight. He was going to quit with me, but decided to 'just finish the last pack' today. It's OK, I know I need to not pressure him. So instead, each time we pause the movie for him to go outside, I am hopping on here, or popping a piece of gum.
