First of all those are incredible stats Lou! Secondly, I really wish they would do that here in the UK. I wish it would happen now because it would make my quit way easier. I know when I was a teenager, I liked another substance in my cig. (I won't say what it was but I think you can figure it out). In California that substance was decriminalized, but when I moved to Texas, it is VERY illegal and you would have to go to a regular drug dealer, so I never did that again. That would be about 25 years ago. Havn't missed it. So if cigs. would be like that, I could really rest assured that I would never relapse. Those stats ROCK Lou! Fantastic. Way to go Canada for that great ruling. Here in Australia it's a bit behind the times - probably because of all the revenue the gov collects. One legislation that HAS come thru is that soon cigarettes will not be allowed to be on display in shops. They'll be behind shutters or whatever. This is great I think. As Shevie said - baby steps. At least we won't be able to see them. Plus, our gov has put the most disgiusting pictures on the packets > gangrenous feet, rotten teeth, kids with O2 inhalers. It is truly gross and was totally embarrassing to buy something with such an image on it! cheers eveyone, alison :) Kick the Herb to the Kerb My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/16/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,734 Amount Saved: $712.5 Life Gained: Days: 8 Hrs: 4 Mins: 38 Seconds: 56

Lou - WOW - those stats are worthy of the dancing banana! Yes, I will join you - but I am way behind, so don't wait up! LOL How wonderful 4 U! Thanks for sharing this piece of interesting news. I can see this happening in Chicago but it will take a very long time - politics, as with everything. That is great news, Lou. Too bad it's just cigs and not all tobacco products. Ah, well, baby steps. :) Shevie My Milage: My Quit Date: 5/23/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 415 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 8,313 Amount Saved: $1577 Life Gained: Days: 77 Hrs: 11 Mins: 36 Seconds: 39

Wow Lou GREAT stats! I love the 3.3.3 My son was born on the 3rd day of the 3rd month, 3 weeks before I was 33. The number 3 is a great number at my house. How wonderful that White Rock is working on such positive legislation. Well probably be the last to support it here in the tobacco laden South, but Id love to live to see it happen. Not cravin', never cavin'. I live in Vancouver, BC, Canada. I just heard on the news last night that the city of White Rock, just south of Vancouver is about to pass legislation TO BAN THE SELLING OF CIGARETTES IN ALL ITS STORES. In Canada, we enjoy the smoke free ban in public places, bldgs, etc. established in 2000, however now, it will be even harder to buy cigarettes. Woooo Hoooo. That is such good news. I just wanted to share it with you all. See, soon you won't even be able to smoke at all. So rest assured that your quit is very valuable. Lou And proudly presenting my stats to further influence you all: I have chosen not to smoke for 3 Years 3 Months 3 Weeks 12 Hours 1 Minute 33 Seconds. Cigarettes not smoked: 24190. Money saved: C$10,280.76.
