Hi, Mookie. Congratulations on 35 smoke-free days.
Like Josie said, rewards can be free. Some of the best are. Are there things you like to do, nearby places you like to visit? A park, shopping mall, downtown, library, or someplace just out of town? Any favorite authors or magazines you don't subscribe to (available at the libarary).
Rewards not only distract, but they also battle the depression at its source and help in the physical healing process. Think of them as medicine.
The coughing is not unexpected at your stage of quit. You are right in seeing your doctor about it, but it is probably either your body cleaning out the gunk or a touch of bronchitis (not a diagnosis, just an observation). Your doctor will know for sure.
Don't worry today about visiting a heavy smoker in a couple of weeks. At your quit stage, a couple of weeks is a looooong time. Your quit won't be the same then as it is now. Right before the time comes, post about it and get suggestions from the board members.
You're doing great, Mookie. Keep up the good quit. :)
Shevie
