Day one again

I am RIGHT THERE WITH YOU! I am dreading when my husband comes home because I never know if he'll buy a pack on the way home from work or if today is the day he's trying to quit-usually he buys a pack. When he comes home with cigs I am in the garage in a heartbeat and happy too! This time I am going to try my hardest to not give in to temptation and know that if I can start the process of quittting then I can be the strength and encouragement for him to quit too, for good. Remember, after dinner it's not too long before bedtime and I know for me, I can at least make it a few more hours without smoking! One hour at a time, even if it's torture, I am there with you and I hope you are thinking of me, because I completely understand. Hi Grace, You said you don't want to be a slave to a 4" tobacco filled paper, you sounded like me!! "i won't be controlled by something that doesn't have an IQ" it's not easy, we all know that, but you can do it, have faith in YOU and take one day at a time...don't worry about tomorrow, just delay that next cigarette, I have delayed my next one and I am now up to delay day 56...you can too (it does get easier..i promise) All the best to you Grace :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 57 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,544 Amount Saved: $570 Life Gained: Days: 5 Hrs: 13 Mins: 32 Seconds: 8

Thanks to all. I know it is not my hubby fault why I smoke. But I tell u it makes it really hard to quit. However I did get past that diner time craving. Which should have felt great but I was angry. Its like I know this is for real this time and I am already starting to grieve. ;) My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 0 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 0 Amount Saved: $0 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 0 Mins: 0 Seconds: 0

Okay I have been preparing myself for months to quit. This is my second go this summer. Yesterday was my actual quit date. I was doing ok, although I was fighting cravings all day. My hubby comes home and WAM I am out on the porch with him. Man that is what got me last time. I underestamate the intensity of that craving. My hubby is not ready to quit, but I am. I REFUSE to be a slave to a 4inchy tabboco filled paper anymore. So since he will be home soon and i must start preparing diner. I am here for help, support and just to get my head off the intinse craving i am about to have. Boy they have all been right on schedule. Ok i am going to make myself some hot tea in hopes to calm me down. Thanks for reading :confuse:

Celestia, Hang in there. Yes it was torture the first day. Today was not so bad. In fact we have just finished eating my hubby has had 3 cigs since he has been home. I am keeping my self busy, drinking hot tea, reminding myself why I am doing this, and being strong. For myself, chrildren and my hubby to. Plus this really helps. Good luck to you. P.S it took me 1week last time of only smoking that1 cig, before I quit. I was still hanging out side with him.3days I took 1 drag 3 days later I was buying apack. Not this time I* am done. Thanks sterk. It is my secret wish that he would do it to. I do have to do this for myself. And i know if he quits he has to really want it. Quiting is not for the wishywashy. It is hard. My hubby is supportive but he is feels like he is losing something to. Avoiding him on the other hand, sounds like a bad thing but actully easy. My sinus are opening and he already really stinks. Plus we just got our computer so we both have been on here alot. Hopefully he will come around but until then I must be strong, and find other ways to connect with him. Instead of our 5min porch meetings that we have been doing for the past 7years. It is not just the smoking that is being disrupted here. But I have faith it will all work out. With faith, love, and grace we can overcome anything My Milage: My Quit Date: 8/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 1 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 32 Amount Saved: $4 Life Gained: Days: 0 Hrs: 2 Mins: 42 Seconds: 38

today is my 14th day without cigs ya. My husband was not going to quit and I did not ask him after I got to day 5 he came home and said I am going to quit also. Yes thank gosh he did it is to hard with him smelling like smoke so I can relate. The thing is that no matter what he does you have to do this for yourself. And yes you will get mad at him it happens but just let it go he will follow sooner or latter when he sees how good you are doing. He wants to quit just as bad, but does not show it. I know it is hard when someone is smoking in the house. You can do this but you have to stay away from him for a while. YOU CAN DO THIS CHANGE YOUR THINKING My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/26/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 407 Amount Saved: $70 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 10 Mins: 58 Seconds: 38

You know... you do deserve to have a smoke free home, and that meens the porch too. I had a freind come over here for the day yesterday and I told her to please not bring her cigarettes with her when she said she'd go outside to smoke. She didn't. Hi Grace, welcome, ask your hubby to cooperate and not smoke in front of you. Concentrate on your quit, you deserve it. Work the tools on the left, drink a lot of water, get mints and gum. You should be all set and don't be a stanger post a lot. One day at a time :)Marie My Milage: My Quit Date: 6/13/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 56 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 854 Amount Saved: $224 Life Gained: Days: 7 Hrs: 12 Mins: 23 Seconds: 46
