Morning Shelly, Hope you came thru yesterday without smoking. Cause thats all it takes. Get thru a tough tough day without picking up. So simple, yet at the time can feel almost impossible! There have been a few days when I've said to myself, "Tomorrow I am definitely having a cigarette!" Then, when tomorrow comes and if I am still struggling, again I will say, "Tomorrow I am definitely having a cigarette!" But, tomorrow is not today and today is the only day I need to concern myself with and that why I like to sign my posts with ... Just for Today ... Hang on tightly ds and don't let go. You've come too far now to give in. As Melanie says, if your usual mechanisms aren't working, try something, anything, else. You can get through this. Shelly, Of course you don't want to lose your quit. And you won't as long as you don't smoke. If nothing you have tried works, then you must try something else. I don't know what you've done so far, but perhaps it's time to get out of the house and go somewhere. * Go to the library and browse. Look in the new books section or look in the section that has dvds and videos. * Go to a bookstore or cd store and buy yourself something. Certainly you deserve a reward. How about an exercise dvd? * Is there a park or a beautiful place you can go and take a walk? I recently found a lake to walk around and it changed my perspective! * How about Bath and Body Works? Go and smell all the good smelling stuff and buy yourself a candle or some body wash in a scent you haven't tried before. * Is there a kids' movie that you could take your child to? * How about baking something that smells wonderful? You're going through a rough patch that will not last. You just need to get yourself to the other side by changing your view, your viewpoint, your environment. You've done great and you will continue to do so. Hang in there! Rusty :)

I think it's definitely time for a reward -- or treat as you called it. Rewards are very important. Our "inner child" was used to being rewarded for the completion of something with a smoke. Now it thinks it's being neglected. So make that reward list!
