Hi there, I had been smoking for about 35 years more or less non stop, had tried a couple of times to quit a good few years ago and decided to give it another go. So in many ways I was more of a 'hopeless case' than you are! (or think you are). The first thing you have to do is get your mind in gear, by this I mean that you have to really want to quit and also have the belief that you can actually do it. As other wise folk put it here, you have to want to quit more than you want to smoke! What you then have to do is have a plan of how you are actually going to do this, to help you there are the quit program tools on this site over to the left. Once you have prepared yourself keep coming here, there is nothing better than keeping the company of like minded folk who are going through the same process as you are and can offer help and support.
Like I said, if I can do it then I am sure you can if you have the right attitude and lots of determination.
Good luck and I hope that you do join us for bpoth you and your daughter's sake.
