Hi Shark, The first 4 days are usually the hardest - Keep hanging on to your quit with everything you've got! I hope you're spending time here reading and arming yourself with lots of information (and inspiration). Take care!
..just fighting the little "tricks" my brain pulls on me. It says "Time for a smoke"...and then I have this little feeling of disappointment a second later when I realize I don't smoke anymore. Its funny how my brain really wants me to go have one....I'm actually fighting my own brain.
Shark, I know what you're talking about here. Give it time, it'll pass. I have a name for this phenomena, but I can't remember it. I know it just feels like a switch is actuated - a split second bend in the brain - a physical feeling. After a week and a half or so after I quit, I noticed that I had automatically learned to cope by taking a very deep breath. Just don't let yourself stress out during these times, just chill and it will pass. Hope this shed some light on it for you. gpw My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/14/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 99 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,486 Amount Saved: $396 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 4 Mins: 4 Seconds: 50
