Alexa, it should be N.O.P.E. but I can live with 3 puffs, like has been said we are here to support not to judge! In a wierd sort of way having those 3 puffs may actually strengthen your resolve to stay quit. You keep at it and if you don't have any more smokes then that is a great result as far as I am concerned! Alexa.. dealing with emotions and depression were the hardest part of the quit for me. Seek counseling, at least a couple of sessions, it could help you regain focus. The important thing is that you don't smoke. It will kill you. You will learn to deal with your emotions but it is going to take time. Let go of the crutch. You have over 70 days quit, you don't need it anymore. Get rid of the cigarettes. Alexa, Ok, take a deep breath and blow it away. Now for the new start. I want you to be aware that since you gave into this urge to puff, that for the next couple of days you are going to experience renewal of smoking thoughts. So be prepared for them. They will be more intense than what you have had lately and more persistant. However, half the doing is in the decision. So fortify your mind right now with the decision that you are not going to smoke, you will not give in, no matter what. Then pull out your bag of tricks that you used the first couple of weeks and keep them handy. They will help you to keep your commitment. Good Luck, Just keep going, Cheryl My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/4/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 317 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 7,623 Amount Saved: $903.45 Life Gained: Days: 41 Hrs: 12 Mins: 53 Seconds: 39

Oh, and the doctor said the temporary weight gain was a lot easier for my body to deal with than the smoking. He'd rathe see me a bit heavy for a while than puffing away for another 10 years..... Oh well - stuff happens. At least you realized pretty quick it wasn't the solution. I quit about 70 days ago. I am just starting, JUST STARTING I said, to slow down on the eating. My doctor told me the weight gain would last no longer than 6 months. He said my body would adjust give it time. he said the smoking has changed your body in ways that you have no idea of. It takes time to "reset". I wouldn't beat nyself up too bad if I were you. I don't think it's a major issue unless you reach for three more puffs. You're human and humans are frail. We make mistakes. Learn from it and go on from here. That's what life is about! You show strength in your words. Just do not feel that you need to lean on a cigarette for anything. I would feel more depressed after having let myself down than before thinking it would help. Oh, life long smokers have an easier way to lose weigth...it is called premature decomposition. Alexa, It is good to see that you are getting back in there! You have learned from this and you can succeed :) Take some time to regroup with your doctor and come up with a plan that works for you. We are not here to judge, only to support :) Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
