Finally, a break

18 years ago 0 506 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Off the patch now and back to crave city. I just want to get this over with. I'm not going to smoke, but this nicotine is one addictive drug. So much for the break, but hopefully this too will end soon. For some, it does seem so much easier. Oh well. Not me. I'm sure that my history of smoking 2ppd for 30 years has a great deal to do with it, but I finally woke up for the first time without an immediate battle with an intense, constant all-day crave. Even after coffee, I am at a tolerable level. After 54 days, this is a blessing to only have a mild desire to smoke. If I can just get a few recharge days like this in per week, I can begin to see the light and manage the rest. Just a thumbs up for all my fellow heavy smokers who were lighting up every 10-15 minutes of their wakeful lives. It can be done! Great job on 60 days - I am chasing you. I am impressed that you DID it and quit. YOU are a big quitter. :) I love to say that about myself. I never smoked as much as you and not as long - but the devil that is nicotine had it's hold on me SOOOO bad. I honestly know that my mental committment this time to it is getting me through. I just DON'T want to ever smoke. I can sit next to my hubby outside while he is smoking and all I think is YUCK! I don't want to smell like that. I hope that you will hang your hat on the HUGE accomplishment of being a quitter FOREVER! You have gotten this far and you can go farther. My little helper was the commit lozenge - I tapered off so gradual - hey I didn't even have one today. - I still have some hours left to the evening - but one - not bad - I have two more weeks of that program and I am FOLLOWING directions on this. Use the tools to keep the quit. Keep the damn patch on if it keeps you from picking up a cancer stick. Go for it and hang on!

Wow. I smoked about a pack, maybe pack and a half a day for only six years, and my quit's been tough, but I started having good days in like week three! I can't IMAGINE how hard it must be to be going through craving hell for almost two months. You're an inspiration. If you can do it, I know I can. Thanks. For me, it's the mornings. Those mornings, I'd have like 5 in a row. Then settle down. This morning was pretty bad but I got through it. The rest of the day was fairly tolerable. I'm almost through day one. Which is a big plus.
