It is a new day. The cravings passed with the night and I am up and about. Looking forward to what the day brings and looking forward to seeing how I can let myself know on a more continuos basis that I am really doing okay and that life is life! Hey what alternative is there. The other side of the fence is not as nice as my back yard! The grass is not always greener, cause I have a lot more fertalizer! I am immensely proud of what I am doing for myself and out of that pride I can get some sense of satisfaction. No smoking here. Promise. Thanks to all of you for letting me know oyu are there. Peace Phillip :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 2/17/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 106 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,127 Amount Saved: $795 Life Gained: Days: 17 Hrs: 7 Mins: 56 Seconds: 41

Hummy I am in the middle of the Riverdale Art Walk, hence the name. I live half a block from the best chocolate crossants in the world and for my anniversary we went for sushi, which of course comes with tempura in the box. There is so much and I am just tired today and demoralized. The work I have been doing is not paying off I am where I was two weeks ago with finding a new office and the world goes round. I feel like a whinner and I am on the verge of tears. I know I won't smoke. There is nop way I want to start all this over or even torment myself with the idea of starting/stopping that tug of war ... way too painful. Tomorrow I work for a bit and then I will play I am cooking for dinner and that will be fun. I swim and I am doing better. I will go to the Art walk and some more on Sunday and I see spces for the new office on Sunday. So there is a whole up side to all of this and I can't pamper myself with the luxury of sheltering myself the way I did in the first week or so of my quit. I know I will fight because I am so proud of where I am in this quit. I have gotten farther than I have ever got. and I am a very proud and stubborn person. I know I must stay inspired and resolute. Time to look at the book. The amazing book I keep of writting, journalling and sketches and other assorted memorabilia of a quit gone well. Off to nod in my little green boat. You know the "Owl and the Pussycat" No smoking and I wish a lot less thinking, here in Toronto. Thanks for the response Phillip Duffis I admire you more than you might know, and there that is, glad you are back, thanks for looking out for me. Glad your feeling better today Riverdale man. A Gaurdian Angel and a star for you Cuddles It's better to be a non-smoker with an occasional desire for a cig than a smoker with a constant desire to quit...... yeah it's crap, Riverdale, I can remember quite vividly this 3 month hurdle you're in, it was very very hard for me...i almost chucked in the towl. The problem exists that we've studied & gained alot of knowledge about this addiction, enough to know we don't need to smoke to cure it. The problem is we can't shake the frustration at wanting one.. it sucks big time. It's bizare, but for some reason we all have to go through this 3 month / 100 day hurdle. I still have my moments & you know the thing thats scares me the most, it's how much of a hold this thing has over all of us & it's was legal !... addiction sucks, Keep you're head up & fight this damn thing. as you know, it does get easier. Phillip.... I could hear you yelling for help all the way down here in Florida :8o: These feelings will pass as you already know. I have been sitting her for the last 2+ hours with a smoker. I am in the home of my ex-sister in law. Usually when we come to visit we sit up for half the night, smoke, chat, laugh, have a couple of drinks, maybe even cry, and share the time together. You see we've been sisters for about 20 years and that kind of bond doesn't just go away. Tonight has been difficult. I decided to pass on the drinks, wanted to keep my wits about me. The chat hasn't been the same. This is my first visit since quitting and I must admit it has been slightly difficult. The one thing I keep reminding myself is how far I have come. I now live in a non-smoking world. I do not want to go back to the control of the addiction. I am thankful to be quit and I am grateful for the days on my meter. Those days mean that I am not a slave anymore. Guess what Phillip? You are not a slave any more either. Junkie thinking comes and junkie thinking goes. You recognize it for what it is and then let it go. Laugh the craves off because they no longer control your every move. Think about it, when we smoked, we were always looking for that next fix. The craves may come out of no where and blindside us; however, we also have mass days of freedom when the craves do not bother us. Isn't that great? We never had that as smokers. We were in constant withdrawal at all times. We are not in withdrawal anymore. We are now in recovery. The seperation is over and now we are moving forward. One step at a time, my friend. Nothing has changed. The rules are still the same. N.O.P.E. and one foot in front of the other. You are doing great. I will not smoke and neither will you. Promise. Good night. Well, shucks, Phillip. Everybody's already spouted all the wisdom I was going to impart. Day late, dollar short. Oh, well. {sigh} Distraction during the day helped, but in the evenings, home alone, I just shut down and waited them out. I focused on the fact that they were temporary and turned everything else off. No thinking, no recognition of the agony, no concept of time. Nothing existed except the thought that it would end. Go ahead and whine and cry a bit if you'd like. You've certainly earned the right. You are one awesome quitter and a lot of people could do well following in your footsteps. Hey Phillip welcome to the wild wild world of the quit. You are at that wierd stage between 90 and 120 days when all hell breakes loose for some reason, I know it did for me. I just gritted my teeth and reminded my self that for that day I chose not to smoke and bit the bullit. I know this is no real answer to your problem but you will find your own way to just not smoke. You are not alone there have been many before you that have gone through this and came out on top. Hang tough Phillip you have 105 days quit under your belt. Go reward yourself with something, anything and get positive, you can do this. Hi Phillip, Youre probably still having some of those 100 day weird craves. Lots of people have them. The good news is that theyll pass soon and youll get to THE POINT. The POINT is that turn around where its no longer craves but just thoughts. I saw on another thread that youre in Toronto. I love Toronto! Had the best shrimp tempura and chocolate croissants Ive ever eaten when I visited there. Are you going to the Riverdale Art Walk this weekend? Not cravin', never cavin'.
