P.S. my opinions are not directed at anyone in particular. Everyone has to make their own informed decisions for their own life. Just want ya'll to know that I know this, LOL. My opinions are just that,,,"opinions". Life can be tough and quitting smoking is definitely one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's really hard and at times can really suck BUT OVERALL IS WONDERFUL!!! WOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Another day smoke-free :) Wishing everyone a wonderful evening of being smoke-free :)

Bump up for those who,,,so called "slipped". Call it whatever you want, but I believe in calling it what it really is,,,smoking. If you smoked today you are a smoker today. If you want to quit then you'll have to do WHATEVER it takes to stay smoke-free. Coping skills have to be learned and used. Being honest with myself helps me to stay quit. 2 of the things I've promised myself are 1. If I relapse/slip,,,bottom line smoke, I have to reset my quit meter. Because if I'm smoking I'm not quit. Therefore the quit meter stops too. 2. Before I give in and smoke just one puff, I will come in here and post for help and read the responses. Then if I still want to smoke, so be it. I just got a year smoke-free and will have 10 yrs sober in April,,,GOD willing. I truly believe that self-honesty plays an extrememly big part in life. These are my opinions & my ways of making it so far. Take from this anthing you want or nothing at all. I'm just sharing in hopes of helping someone/anyone. No matter what don't lite up... I remember taking a trip home to Cali, early on in my quit. I had already made this promise to myself. So one day when I was at the beach and having a craving this promise helped me cuz I would have had to find a kinko's to post for help and well...that was just too much work, lol, it was easier to just not smoke, lol. Honestly this promise has come in handy several times, lol. Happy smoke-free Wednesday all :) WOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!! No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... Cherie

I promised myself a long time ago that if I ever felt like or thought I was going to give in,,,run down to 7-11, get a pack and start stinking again that I would come in here 1st and ask for help. I've kept that promise to myself and I'm still smoke-free. This is a thread for all who want to make the same promise to yourself. I thought it might be a good idea to put it in writing. It's kinda like the weekend promise thread but just basically to confirm the promise to everyone in here that I & you WILL come in here and ask for help before giving up. If you still give up after you've come in here and have read the reply's to your call for help, then so be it. I promise to come to this site, ask for help and read the replys before I give up :) I just thought of this b/c sometimes I come in here and get so afraid that I'm going to find that someone I care about is going to post about a slip or relapse. And then also b/c it's worked for me so it might help someone else. No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... I promise to come in here and post if I feel my quit is in danger! I will wait for at least 15 replies before deciding if a cig is worth polluting my lungs and life.
