Just down :(

18 years ago 0 852 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Well, for the past few days now, I have been very "down in the dumps", and I'm not sure why........ I have a lot going on right now. Trying to plan a birthday party for my 3yr old. Of course, it snuck right up on me, and now its 2 1/2 weeks away, and I have done nothing. We always do big bashes for the girls, but this one is hard. I have a cold too. I do feel a little better today though. I'm keeping myself pumped up w/vitamins. So I'm not quite sure what is bothering me. I'm really trying to push out some bad emotional thoughts out. Those have always gotten me into trouble before. Well, they're not exactly bad thoughts, but they are none the less healthy. You know the ones that say I'm so alone, I have no friends, no one understands me, I'm not like them, I cant do this on my own, maybe I should just leave............ I would understand if these were about smoking, but they're not. They are about life. These thoughts always crept up on me, but I smoked them away. So now, how do I handle these without smoking? Are these thoughts normal? OMG - thank you all for your kind words!! I am feeling MUCH better today! Back to my old self. Takin' charge and kicken some major a$$. Okay - I had way too much going on lately. Way too much. Yesterday I got off my big butt and did some housework. Now, its not that I like housework, but it felt soooo good to get back into some sort of routine. I have spent way too much time on the computer. So, I pushed us all out the door, took off the training wheels and let my daughter go. Did that for a while. Went for a walk - basically we just went outdoors. That sure does wonders. The fresh air (didnt mind the cloudiness one bit), awed over how green our grass is!! The rain has been kind to it!! Anyhow, I feel great today!! I am only consentrating on what I have to do today. Not tomorrow. The party will come together, so I put that stress right on the ground and stomped it out......... I just have to remember to order the cake, or I will have some nasty 4yr olds yelling at me!!!LOL And ya know what??? I realized that I have to do as I preach!! I have not rewarded myself in a while!! So, I went shopping yesterday and bought 6 pairs of new, pretty (but a size bigger:( )uhhhh, how do I say it?? Intimates??? It felt good, as the holes in my old ones are now toooooo big!!!LOL I needed to hear these kind words. I have no support over here. All think I should be over it. And the rest, still smoke. It really does me good to hear that people actually care. I guess I just need to hear it once in a while! Thank you again!! 4mygirls: I was feeling quite sorry for myself today - I am in class at night as well until 10 p.m. and I just wanted to lay my head down on my desk and take a long snoozzzzzzzzz...oh sorry that was my head on the z button! Anyway, you have had so much on your plate lately it's no wonder that you are feeling all these emotions. With your 3 year old's birthday coming up it is probably just seeming to come to a head and now you have a cold! Have you tried some Zicam or something like that? I know that if you use that at the start of your cold it helps get rid of it quickly. You need some rest! The McDonald's trip for your husband and kids sound like a great idea. Put some euculiptus (sp??) oil into a warm bath and relax while they are gone. Another trick I have is to use "Johnson's Foot Soap" (you get it in the "feet" aisle at the drug store) and pour a package into a warm bath. It is a natural muscle relaxer. It works wonders for a quick pick me up! Anyway - sorry to go on and on - but know that you are not alone, you are not friendless, and you can do this. You are a STRONG, WONDERFUL Woman! Hello there my shinning star, Well join the crowd. I think it's something in the air. I have been in a pity party for 3 days. But then I look back at some of your posts and see what you are doing... You have finals this week, right??? You have a daughter that is going to have a birthday, things have just crept up on you. And now the pressure has set in. I don't like pressure but most of the time I bring it on myself. Because I wait until the last miniute to do things that should have been done three weeks ago.....I can understand where you are coming from because of your classes, they have to come first sometimes, if not all the time... and then what is left over spills over to your family and not you. You have a cold, things are always 10 times worse when you are sick. They don't look the same... We always had that crutch to get us through. So now we have to find another way to deal with all these situations. My dear one I think that you are just exhausted, and need some down time. I think we tried to tell you that last week. And you kept saying that you were okay. You help some many of us through our down time, and I don't mean just a few words you pour your whole heart into these posts. And that is draining all of your energy, with everything else you have going on in your life.... Lady my friend take care of yourself, and after finals and graduation take sometime for Lady....I love you, and my thought and prayer go out to you!!! 4my2girls... I'll send some good feelings your way. It may take some time for them to get there but they will. I've had some serious slumps in my quit too, but what everyone says is true. They will pass. You're doing the best thing you could possibly do for yourself and those you love and who love you. Sometimes there seems to be no rhyme or reason why we get in these funks. Don't worry too much about it, it'll pass. Remember where you are headed and don't give an inch. It's alright to have a bad day. Just take some time to care for yourself. You deserve it. You'll feel more like yourself soon. Take care and keep on keepin' on, Fish My Milage: My Quit Date: 12/21/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 125 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 3,769 Amount Saved: $625 Life Gained: Days: 16 Hrs: 5 Mins: 56 Seconds: 22

Hi 4my2girls, sorry to hear you're feeling so blue. You have already gotten some great words of encouragement and advice from the "masters", (yes I'm talking to you 4 above) :), but I can add that I went through what you are going through too, and I did feel loads better after 2 or 3 days. You WILL get over this hurdle and feel better soon. Remember your doing it for your 2 girls! They must be so proud of Mommy. Keep Strong, redrosie :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 114 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 2,748 Amount Saved: $946.2 Life Gained: Days: 11 Hrs: 3 Mins: 45 Seconds: 33

4my2girls.... The mental part of this addiction seems to be the toughest to overcome. I've been in the *nobody cares about me or what I do so why bother pot* several time during my quit. Hold on tight. We care. WE ALL CARE! Replace that negative thinking with possitive. Find some inspirational quotes on line. Look at your girls. How blessed you are to have them. Make a list of all your blessings and review it when you feel this way. This IS about not smoking. When we smoked, we hid behind the cigarette regardless of what was happening in our lives. When we no longer have that crutch we have to learn how to deal with our emotions as they come. When we would start to get down before, we would go smoke and be right back up. Now...... it's different. I call it learning to deal with life on life's terms. Its very difficult. Rewards are also very important. When is the last time you had a reward? Maybe it is time to go get one. Or have someone take over with the girls and have a "me" day. Your cry here is loud and clear to me because I struggle so much with this part of my quit. Some days I would just be down and cry. From no where. Really nothing wrong, nothing happened, just felt like no one cared. My heart goes out to you. I hope this helps. Just don't smoke bacause it won't help anything.
