Cuddles, I don't really consider myself an oldie because there are far more that stick around who are way further along in their quits than I, but I know that I am here because I need this place just as much as anyone else does. Helping others is one of the best ways to help yourself. That, and I owe it to this place... I know for a fact that I couldn't have quit and stayed quit without the people here who came before me. Cuddles, you will be there too someday. You too will be offering advice and helping newbies along and following in the footsteps of those who have helped you! Stay strong and keep fighting! Crave the Quit! Hiya Cuddles :) The yellow guy bowing down cracked me up LOL. Considering I just got 10 yrs sober,,,I consider my 1 yr 2 mos and some odd days of smoke-free still pretty much a baby in the quit. It take all of us in here helping each other to make this thing work. I could start smoking again just as quick as someone with 1 day. Sure I have things I've learned along the way that might come in handy and help someone but then so does everybody else in here. The new quitters are so very important in helping us teenagers and oldies to stay quit because you all remind us of how hard it was those 1st 3 long months! Or should I say those 1st 3 long hours...1st 3 long days...etc. I will share though that it's been over 2 wks this stretch without a craving. And when I say craving,,,it's nothing like in the begining. It's so much easier now and I'm so grateful I made it through those 1st 3 hours, days & months. The time just flys by now without even thinking of those nasty smelly stinky lung sufocating turning teeth yellow nasty,,,oh I already said that lol,,,u'all get the idea LOL :) So anyhow, thanks to all the newbies for helping all of us remember where we came from and don't ever wanna go again! No matter what don't lite up... Keep on keepin on... It's funny how the quit meter is kinda like your age. When I was a 10 y/o, 43 seemed ancient! It doesn't anymore!! When I was new to quitting, 417 days seemed almost imposible! Now it doesn't!! Thanks to all the oldies for your help!! Now I can pay it forward!
