Jan, Keep up the good work. It is fortunate for you that you have had an easy time of it. Be prepared that it may hit and have your plan of action in place. You may want to reconsicer the patch at this point. From all I have heard and learned .. nicotine is out of your system in 4 to 5 days.. I thought about it as well but then thought to myself why put the nicotine back in my body. I've gone throught the worst of the withdrawls. I also have sons I have two and they are very happy that I quit we have a lot more time to spend together and I feel happier. Keep up the good fight. remember some days are better than others. sfr My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 13 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 271 Amount Saved: $63.57 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 6 Mins: 54 Seconds: 42

JanA-N.O.P.E, I love your post!!!!! It made me have a good chuckle!! It sounds just like my old days too! What a loud Mom I was......... and always grumpy. And always running late. I had to have that smoke before I got into that car............ Thank you for enlightening my day! Makes me even prouder of my smoke-free life! Keep up the wonderful thoughts! Jan you are doing the right thing by quitting. In time it gets much much easier. Not that I have 100 days under my belt but at 17 days I do see a difference from day 10. Keep up the great quit!!! Well here it is day 4, I am bracing myself, as I feel like the calm before the storm. I haven't had any significant craving...matter of fact in the last 24 hours, only had one, it woke me up at like 3 am - but I was able to overcome it. The junkie in me tried to resolve that I could run out to the store..the MOM in me said you IDIOT ..your son is sleeping. So needless to say the level headed mom in me won out. I woke this morning and had a great time with my son, instead of running downstairs for that early morning smoke, I spent it with him, waking him up and he woke up with a smile and a laugh..it took but 5 minutes to start his and my day off right. So different from last week. Here was my day as a junkie 7 am - run to garage grab a quick smoke 715 am - wake up son and rush - him wake up crabby 720 am - run to garage grab a nerve calming smoke 730 am - run upstairs --- yellng at son to hurry up we're running late - grab shower 740 am - run to garage and have a quick one for the road - open garage door yell at son to hurry up. 8am -drop son off at school - light up another smoke on way to work.. 830 am arrive at work, get coffee go out for pre 9am smoke. 10 am - Smoke break 11 am - smoke break 12 pm - smoke break...you get the idea Now day begins at 7am - shower - 715 wake up son, and enjoy breakfast, and talk and laugh and get out to school when we get there...I get to work arrive get my coffee and socialize with friends. And actually get work done throughout the day. Well okay ..so far been obsessing with posting and reading. So now that the calm is here, when does the storm start. I am expecting cravings and so far so good..maybe the time is right, maybe I won't have anything to bad..but Just in case, I bought some patches last night, in case a craving comes along that I can't handle...better to be prepared with that ..then a mad dash to the store. Hubby has been away and is coming home on Thursday ..and usually I use him as an excuse to start back. So I am a little scared on that..but I will have 5 days under my belt at that point, so it won't be that bad. Anyways enough for today.. there is my ramble..now to read and read some more...dang gotta fit work in there too... so will work, read, work, read re

jan, Thank you for sharing! The storm will only be bad if you let it! Use coping mechanisms to throw those craves to the curb! You have made it to day 4 and this is quite an accomplishment. Let us know if we can help, Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
