Hi Ryan!
First off - congratulations on your choice to quit. That's EXCELLENT!
To me, it's just about the hardest part of the whole thing - the first "letting go". :)
Anyways, I can tell you it's certainly gotten easier for me so far. Is it easy? Hayyyeeeellll no. However, the first week is what everyone around here calls 'Hell Week'. It's when a lot of the cravings are at thier worst.
I can already tell you that for me, just in week 3, I really do find myself going LONG stretches without even thinking about a smoke. Honest! :)
If you haven't already - I really do urge you to look on the left part of the screen and go through the tools available there. They really do help a lot of things, including understanding cravings and how to deal with them!
Keep some gum handy, keep some straws handy - whatever. Be prepared for the cravings so it's easier to stand up to them.
Stay CLOSE here. Seriously. Read a lot, post a lot, scream a lot.
You WILL get through this... you ARE getting through it right now.
I'm very, very happy for you that you've made the choice.
