It amazes me how blinding the smoking addiction is. How could we smoke for all those years and simply ignore everything that was going on around us? All the warnings I never even heard until I quit. As a smoker, I had a total mental block on anything negative about smoking. Sure I knew it was bad for you and that you could get cancer and die. What I didn't know was all the other things smoking could give you besides cancer and how quickly lung cancer takes away your life. I also didn't know how much of my life I was wasting away by spending all that time smoking. Let us never forget that we are truly blessed to be quit. Yes it was hard work but we are blessed because we were given the strength necessary to accomplish the quit journey. Most of us have been given a second chance to make our lives better. Let's not waste it.
