I thank you all for being here...This is a great forum. I have an appointment tomorrow we'll see what happens. As for a new quit date...don't worry I will quit. I just need to see what the doc says first and I will go from there. I know that the sooner I quit the better and I'm not giving up. I just realize now that there is no way I am going to succeed in quitting if I don't take care of my mental health too. Even the most mentally healthy person has a hard time with this...so why would I expect to succeed when my own mental health is less than average at the best of times? Thanks again... Tennielle

I thank everyone here who has given me support and helped me in my attempts to quit. Like I've mentioned before I've been at this non-stop for about 18months...total attempts at least 20, but I'm sure there is more. What I am trying to say is I need a break from this...before I have a mental break. I have a history of clinical depression and anxiety. I can feel that I need to stop doing this to myself. I have to take a step back...enjoy my life and then come back to the quitting issue. I realize now this is never going to work unless I deal with some more important issues. Like my inabilities to tolerate distress and my emotional stability. I plan on calling my doctor today to find out what my options are. I have felt for the past couple months that my mental health is not doing well and I need to do something about that first. I will be back I promise...and when I do come back I will be a stronger and well into my journey of freedom from smoking. May the Light shine upon you all, Tennielle

Tennielle, This saddens me to see you giving up. Take the time you need, but PLEASE, come back soon! I know that tune the junkie is playing and it's a real tear jerker, but don't let that stop you from realizing your true potential as a non-smoker. If time is what you need, then take it... but please, set yourself a time to quit now. Otherwise, you'll keep saying "I'll quit later... I'll quit eventually... I'll quit sometime." and that time never comes. Set a date... 1 month, 3 months, or whatever, that you will try again. Otherwise, I'm afraid that you won't do it and will stay a smoker forever. Please don't do that to yourself. We all want to see you succeed! Come back soon! Crave the Quit! Hi Tenielle, I do understand what you're saying. Take a look at a post I made last March. It's in the 'avoiding relapse' section. It was right after I started this forever quit. I had a failed attempt in January last year. It failed in part for the reasons you have right now. There is hope Tenielle. Step back, get the medical help you need, learn all you can, make a plan, and start fresh. You can do this and we'll be here to help! ~bugg huggs~ PS...Stay close to the site, too. I kept reading (and occasionally posting ;p even inbetween) My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/17/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 334 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 17,702 Amount Saved: $2204.4 Life Gained: Days: 32 Hrs: 12 Mins: 52 Seconds: 21

Tenielle, Take some time for yourself and know we are always here to support. Making an appointment with your doctor is a great way to come up with a plan for you. We are ready when you are! Keep Strong, Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
