Today I started week 8. it is hard to believe that it has been 7 weeks (49 days) since I made the big plung and stopped smoking.
Sometimes I have questioned why am I putting myself through all this. But then I look at my cats and know that the reason is that I want to live as long as I can. When I have really bad urges, I hold them and it seems to help.
I wish I would start feeling all the benefits that the health organizations talk about in their no smoking campaigns. My nose is so stuffed up, that sometimes it is hard to breath through it. My neice had a similar problem and had to use her puffer more for the first six months after she quit because her asthma got worse.
It helps reading the postings, and finding out that other people have similar problems that I am having. It makes me realize that what I am feeling is not unusual, even if it is not discussed in the non smoking literature.
Thanks again for your support even if you do not realize that you are giving it to me.
