I post here off and on not really needing to ask any questions for myself anymore, but I post to other people when I think I can be of some help and read what other people are posting every day. I wanted to do my own post today to say that I am at 100 days. It really has gone by faster then I thought it would. No matter how much I craved I just told myself that I will not smoke. I know that one day I will never crave again. It is getting better as time goes by. I used the patch starting with the 14mg for 8weeks even though I smoked a pack a day. I went to the 7mg for 2 weeks. I did cut the 7mg in half and wore 3.5mg for 2 weeks and then cut them again for 2weeks wearing 1.75mg for 2 weeks. I wanted to go as low as I could on the nicotine to wean myself off of it. I know I probably did not have to do that, but it made me feel better. I know that the main reason I was able to quit this time was because of my mind and the nrt just took the edge off. I wanted to not smoke more then I wanted to smoke. It really is easier to not smoke then it is to smoke. There are so many things about smoking that are a pain in the you know what. I won't sugar coat it because it is hard to change from a smoker to a non smoker. You have to get over the nicotine addiction, the habit, deal with depression and weight gain. But these are all temporary things. You can get over the nicotine addiction, the habit, you can lose the weight. If you keep smoking, all the bad things that go with it will always be there. Anyway, I highly recommend it. It is the most freeing thing you will ever do. There is life after cigarettes! I can finally say.....
