Great post Chicken!!! It's amazing how alike our minds must be, since we were writing very similar posts at the same time! LOL! I completely understand what you're saying! Yes, we are addicts once and were once slaves to our addictions, but we chose to quit jumping off the bridge, so to speak. I love this post! Great insight! Crave the Quit! ChickenStix, Rant on dear lady! I was beginning to get worried that I was one of the few to be gungho on quitting! Thanks for the great insight from another one who has been there! I know how frustrating it can be to see someone come onto the site, eager to quit, and then in a matter of days just chuck it all because.. "waaaaaa.. this is hard to do!" We were all dumb enough to buy into this addiction when we started smoking, now is time to take responsibility for our poor decisions and do the right thing.. as difficult and unpleasant as it may me... and quit!! "Life does not end with quitting smoking, it ends with smoking!!!" You said it all right there!! Great post!! Be Strong. Be Smart. Chickenstix, your post made me smile as I remembered your lusting after a tie-dyed cigarette packet a couple of weeks ago... You are doing great, I am also a non-smoking hippy "The sun, the sky, the wind and the earth are my friends - not cigarettes, or tie-dyed packets either, lol". How is your husband doing? Boyfriend's new quit date 30th March... Rob you are a crack up Lithium.I thought I was in the line for peyote. Ok Chicken what did you do stay in a Holiday Inn last night? PSYCHONESS ???? In all my years I have not encountered that term used in that particular sense. You might consider psychoactive as a replacement word for better meaning. I can fully appreciate your rant and hope that you are one of the few that will succeed in your quit without the pain and suffering that us moners and groners have gone through. I seem to remember about day 180 I went to hell in a hand basket for no particular reason. Not having a bad day or anything. It (what ever it was and to this day have never figured it out) slammed me into the ground so hard I almost blew a 6 month quit. Wahhhhhhhh Wahhhhhhhhh you bet youre a** I did..but I didnt fold, I could have but did not. Besides my being in the wrong line there must be some reasoning for my posting to your thread.oh yea now I remember. Dont get to cocky you are still an addict and always will be. All you can ever hope to do is develop the will and courage to stand up to this addiction. There are a few rare birds like Joe and myself still around that can walk on fire bricks or for that matter what ever we choose to take on. 70% of all smokers want to quit.. Only 5% will succeed. Be gentle and understanding of your fellow quitterseveryone is different and will do this anyway they can, if they can.
