Thanks Josie. I understand what you are saying, and I think you're right. But I also want to conquer this weakness and prove to myself that I can do it. Does that make sense? I almost want to go out, not so much to have a good time, but to prove to myself that I CAN make it through this no matter what. I feel like I'm always going to be afraid of this trigger if I don't defeat it. Does that make any sense to anyone other than me? Time's running out for me to decide and I still don't know what I'm going to do! They're going to call me at 10:30 (10 minutes from now) to let me know where they are and see if I'm going to go. What do I do???????? I've been asked to go out tonight with the same people who I went out with 76 days ago when I lost my quit. And guess what! They're going to THE SAME PLACE! Now this time, I know what I did wrong last time... I got really drunk and stupid and decided to blow my quit "just for one night." This time, I know that I really have to watch out and be careful and not drink a lot and keep my quit no matter what. But at the same time, I'm not sure if this is something I can handle right now. But at the same time, if I don't put myself in the bar situation, then I'll always have a problem with this trigger. And, I'm confident in my quit... VERY confident, but I was confident last time too. But THIS time, I know that I have to be careful because I know what happened LAST time. I mean, this kinda seems like deja vue all over again, but I REALLY want to go and just have a good time and have a couple of drinks. What do you guys think? I know it probably sounds like I'm asking for permission and well, I am! I know that I don't need it, but honestly, I want to know what other people think about this... especially those who are familiar with the situation from last time and know what happened and how awful I felt. What do you guys think? Is this a bad idea? Or should I just go and have a good time and just have a couple drinks and prove to myself that I AM strong enough to do this. I think you will make it if you go. BUT since you made the statement "I don't know if I can handle it right now", then I would NOT GO! Your quit is more important than anything. By now, I bet you have decided. With your forethought, I am sure that you made the right decision for you. But I'm chomping my nails waiting for the report :) My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/15/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 273 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 6,828 Amount Saved: $955.5 Life Gained: Days: 38 Hrs: 0 Mins: 1 Seconds: 31
