And remember, Cuddles, this too will pass. And as time goes by it gets much easier, the craves become passing smoking thoughts and you will have beaten the nicodemon. I hung in there alot just because I'm too dam stubborn to let him win. I am in control not some pile of carceogenic chemical foliage wrapped in paper....that scenario is ludicrous! Stay strong and stay close.... Cuddles and Bogbott..... Sometimes Life just sucks whether we smoke or not. So why add to the misery by smoking? It wouldn't help anyway. Hang in there guys. You are going to make it. Cuddles...the others have said it all so well. Don't really have much to add just wanted you to know I'm here for you. Like Katy said...delay and distract. You KNOW you can do this. Replace that junkie thinking with positive thoughts. Keep telling yourself that a cigarette will not help a thing. Repeat it over and over again. Do not envy the smoker. I had a hard time with this early in my quit. Let it go. They are a slave, you are not. Enjoy your freedom. ((Hugs)) My Milage: My Quit Date: 7/1/2005 Smoke-Free Days: 218 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 4,368 Amount Saved: $763 Life Gained: Days: 19 Hrs: 6 Mins: 1 Seconds: 33

Hi Cuddles: I hope Smoggone and Redrosie's posts brought a smile to your face. That is a good distraction. They are pretty funny and the tipping of the hat was great. Hope they made you feel better. I know it doesn't seem like it right now but there will come a time when instead of wanting to join the smokers you will be glad you don't HAVE to....because you know they think they HAVE to have that smoke, just like we did. Lucky us, we don't need that now!!!!!! Have a good Sunday. Try to find ways to 'distract and delay' it's a bit like different strokes for different folks???? only you can find what works best for you. going out walking was my distraction....it's hard to puff and pant and climb hills and keep thinking about smoking at the same time LOL I also steared clear of the smokers in the early weeks....for me it just brought on too many longings and urges....I didn't really want to join them, but I couldn't get it off my mind when constantly faced with them smoking. We can't get 'totally' away, but we can avoid a great deal of it if we plan. Learn to think on a smoke "free" life style.....all the things that being smoke free make you privy to It gets you away from thinking about 'smoking'....this is what is meant by positive thinking.....knocking down all thoughts that contain reference to the act of smoking.....replacing them with thoughts about stuff that doesn't go with smoking. and taking ACTION is the best early crave buster. when we just sit...the junky has more power for some reason. and it really IS ok to also scream, cry, and break something(one person went to the good will and bought dishes, just for this purpose) I used to tell myself that just about anything goes, BUT lighting up. There's only ONE thing you must NOT do....otherwise the sky's the limit. hang tough....One thing I promise you....this will end up being the greatest gift you EVER gave yourself! katy My Milage: My Quit Date: 1/4/2002 Smoke-Free Days: 1492 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 59,695 Amount Saved: $8206 Life Gained: Days: 194 Hrs: 15 Mins: 47 Seconds: 51

Cuddles, Don't go there! Go to your happy place and distract yourself. Do something for you and enjoy yourself :) This is where you have to protect yourself and avoid and distract. It is okay to cry sometime, now wipe those tears and take it day by day! Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
