Really BAD craving right now

18 years ago 0 39 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Eve, Please remember, if you give in to that crave, you will be disappointed. That butt will taste vile and you will feel worse. Ive been using the Commit lozenge and it works. Im down to 3 a day . I pop one only when a craving strikes. I think I will always have a few available to me in case panic sets in. Just a suggestion, but I believe if you picked some up, you wouldnt have to go through situations like this. Giving in to a lozenge is a lot better than giving in to a butt. I feel like I am holding onto every single wit I've got about me right now. I'm almost to day 14 and I have the most ill craving right now so far, and I've been crying on and off for the past hour. This craving starts in the back of my throat and goes straight down to my gut and UGH it feels terrible. I don't know what to do with myself, eating licorice doesn't help, cofee doesn't help, even water just seems to refuel my eyes to cry more!! I feel so sick and I dont want to smoke at all. But this is awful. I've been reading up on Junkie thinking and I KNOW that I am at a few of those points right now. I just wonder how I can be so positive and then have an extreme negative citation cancelling out all my positive? I feel like I am only as good as my last good positive thought, and the negative is trying to cancel my good stuff out. I am taking Lady's advice and positing here for some support. I hope someone can help, because right now I am close to either tossing my cookies or EATING a cigarette. I DONT WANT TO SMOKE!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone thank you for all the support! I was able to get on Messenger and talked to Ln CARE for quite awhile, but my computer kept freezing up on I/M (had to reboot 4x). I'm doing alright now, much better. You ALL gave very accurate advice in respect to what I was feeling and going through. To put it lightly, the crave came out of NOWHERE and I mean like I was doing great and all of a sudden I was queezy as heck, and it started actually in my gut and worked it's way up to my throat not vice versa which is how people normally feel the nausea start. Then it just felt like my throat all the way down to my gut was in total disgust, like I had perhaps swallowed one of the following items: A soap on a rope (rope still attached, entire soap too) BLAH; A quart of WD-30 (yes glug glug) DOUBLE BLAH; and third felt like I may have licked the bathroom floor. TWICE. OH YUCK AND BLAHHHHH. I was ready to toss every cookie I had ever eaten. that was the most awful crave - I dont ever remember having one like that when i smoked and even the last time i quit. Does this mean that I am so sick of this filthy thing that I am really done this time, and my body knows it somehow so I am getting these major ill effects? Is there something about this quit that makes it different? I guess it's something to ponder. I did a couple of things to settle my stomache and the nausea feeling: I had no desire to eat anything and went to the fridge to have a look for something that might help, anything, and I saw the navel oranges. That was was I needed, the one orange settled me. The second thing I used was peppermint oil. Topically applied to the throat and neck area, the aroma started making things pleasant right away. Thanks to Ln's suggestions I was feeling much better. I want to give a special thanks to Ln for helping me out tonight on messenger. I am so grateful for your time and support hon, thank you!!! I have also related to everything posted here, and I am better prepared now to face any future craves like this. I was riding this one for about an hour by myself before I posted. AND NO I DIDNT LIGHT UP! I just wanted to get better. Many Blessings, Eve My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/8/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 14 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 114 Am

Duckie I know you are feeling much better now too and your fog has lifted...wooohoo!!! Ln, what can I say? I've got your back too, anytime!! ;) elaine and ArwensMom thanks for all the suggestions, however I went cold turkey and I chose not to subject myself to any type of nrt, so hopefully you both understand. Thank you both for coming here and responding when I needed it and very badly. I am most grateful :) Sunshine and Lady you both rock in your sound advice and I am so very grateful you were both here too. I have found both of you to be very inspiring in your posts as well and tend to read them often. Thank you all for the upliftment and encouragement!! And with your help along with the decision that I made to quit and the promise I made to myself, I made it through without lighting up. I really wanted to eat one more than I wanted to smoke one. Pretty bizarre crave. But it's passed now. Hopefully I won't have to face many more like that down the pike. I feel great now and I am also OUT of the fog! Many Blessings, Eve Proud to be a C.A.R.E. I must be where you were at :( I am sick to my stomach...I am very weepy....edgy....fidgety....in a foggy state... part of me says, "Smoke jsut one and you will feel better...." the other part says, "No...you do not need it...it's all in your head..." I know this is gonna sound like I have lost my noodles BUT I am literally fighting w/ myself :( My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/4/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 18 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 147 Amount Saved: $36 Life Gained: Days: 1 Hrs: 14 Mins: 46 Seconds: 35

Folks I had Eve on SCC Messenger and then it knocked me off. When I got back she wasn't logged on. And she is having a real tough time. Eve, try to message me again right away when you are logged back on here. Good morning everyone! Eve, so help me it was my honor to be there when you needed it most. No doubt, NO DOUBT, I will need the same thing at some point in this journey. Besides... between the gurggles from you chugging quarts of WD-30 and that soap on a rope thing you kept swinging in the air....I had a pretty darn good time. I am very very happy that you didn't smoke hon, so help me. I am SO proud of you...you are a real trooper! Duckie, Doesn't sound like you lost your noodle at all!!! I have that fight in my head ALL THE TIME. When I hear the back and forth going on in my head...I produce a third party voice that basically treats the other two as children who are bickering over a piece of candy. When the fighting in my head gets too loud or irritating, I tell them to shut the heck up and go to their SEPARATE rooms for 5 minutes or until they think they can come out and play nice. If I hear one of them pop out, I yell at them to get back in their room. So far this tactic has worked......... I dunno what I'm gonna do if one of them needs a spanking. I'm gonna look ridiculous trying to chase the voice down with a wooden spoon!!! EVERYONE....have a wonderful quit day!!! Ln The way I figure it, with the actual physical chemical now out of my system, I am dealing with mental rebellion...my brain is acting like a child...temper tantrums and all! It works for me and I My Milage: My Quit Date: 3/29/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 24 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 244 Amount Saved: $38.4 Life Gained: Days: 2 Hrs: 17 Mins: 54 Seconds: 36

Eve, I hope you are doing better? I understand what you are going and through and I have been there too. I don't have any additional advice other than you already got, but I think that the best you can do is to lay down and take some deep breaths, it always helps me. Carina
